I just think Noel would give the C's what they have lacked the last few years a legit rim protector that would make the C's defense even more elite. I just dunno how useful Okafor really is in today's modern game. Yeah hopefully Danny does something though.

We could see some action tonight.

      According to Marc Stein

League sources tell @chadfordinsider and me: Philadelphia is ramping up its efforts to acquire tonight's No. 3 overall pick from Boston.

Numerous rivals describe Philly as the most active team in circulation ... with a trade involving Nerlens Noel looking more and more likely.

Yeah, pass on Okafor for the #3 straight up. I would rather us keep the pick instead of trade for Okafor.
No way this should happen straight up. There should be more involved for this to even come close to happening.

Keep the Pick my preference would probably be Bender or Dunn i guess.
I think I would prefer Okafor over Noel myself. Noel would bring a rim protector but Okafor would bring us more all-around scoring/play. Plus, we would possibly have injury concerns with Noel as well.

        I agree with that.

Like I did say above, Noel would certainly bring us a rim protector but what else is he going to bring? Maybe a few rebounds but his offensive game is weak still. I prefer Okafor over getting Noel.

We may end up with both of them though with a draft night trade. That would be ok with me but if I had to prefer one over the other I'd take Okafor even with some off-court issues. It's going to be interesting indeed.

Only about 1 1/2 hours away too. No way we use all 8 draft picks to pick players. We're going to see at least a couple of trades pulled off by Ainge with those picks. We need to get at least one star/semi-star with any deal(s).

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celti...t-kevin-durant (I give us about a 25% chance at landing KD.)

The Philadelphia 76ers are trying to acquire the No. 3 pick of Thursday's NBA draft from the Boston Celtics, league sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein and Chad Ford.

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celti...eltics-at-no-3 (I personally don't think we need another guard)(That's unless Ainge has plans up his sleeve to trade away some we have on the current roster).

The Celtics have eight picks in the 2016 NBA Draft and aren’t expected to use all of them Thursday night. With that said, the team has not made any trades to consolidate those picks just yet. Until something changes on that front, we decided to go through all of Boston’s eight picks to identify players the […]

Unsurprisingly, the 2016 NBA draft conversation changes by the hour. We're constantly hearing new rumors and buzz on risers, fallers and promises. As one scout put it, "Mock drafts are about to go up in flames...

COMMENTARY The NBA Draft is only hours away and pundits around the league still seem to have conflicting opinions about whom the Celtics are honing in with the No. 3 pick. With no true consensus out there, we decided to take a closer look at the potential candidates and rank which players would be the […]

I read that the C's didn't even bring Valentine in for a workout. Personally, I really like him, but his knees make him a risk. I wouldn't mind taking him at 23 if he's still there.

Some of the guys I'm hoping for in the 2nd are Guerschon Yabusele, Malcolm Brogdon or Ben Bentil.

That's exactly who I would like to see as well. It's Brice instead of Bryce. I did the same thing too. I thought his first name was spelled Bryce which is typical spelling but it's actually Brice. Thanks!

Well, Jaylen Brown was my 3rd choice for the 3rd pick. I had Hield, Bender, & Brown as the 3rd choice. Not too bad I don't guess. I feel now that we'll trade away our next two picks of the 1st round. We might keep one of them but not both.

By allowing this 3rd pick to be used to actually pick a player tells me Ainge is looking the FA route to sign a possible big name star/semi-star.

Sick of being told to wait for the draft, wait for free agency, wait until next year's draft.

It's not Jaylen Brown's fault, but man, hard not to feel extremely disappointed right now.

Exactly but I bet we take a PG before the draft is over.

Jaylen Brown has an awful lot of raw talent. Don't think he's going to be much of a contributor right away but in two years I think he will be a pretty good player if he stays healthy & puts in the work ethic.

Why in the crap did we skip on drafting Brice Johnson at #23? He went two picks later to the Clippers. I thought we would have grabbed him right there at #23. That does frustrate me a little now.

Thinking I will feel better about the Jaylen Brown pick after sleeping on it. The disappointment is more a result of what could have been than anything else. Hope he proves the doubters wrong.

Don't mind taking two draft and stash players. Doubt anyone else at this spots steps up to help us no anyway. My biggest gripe is us using all 3 1st round picks. Never imagined that happening.

My favorite picks were Ben Bentil, Jaylen Brown, Deyonta Davis, & Demetrius Jackson. The other four players I really really didn't care much for at all. I have to admit though I don't know a lot about a couple of the Euro players we picked.

I still can't believe we didn't take Brice Johnson at #23. That was a mistake if you ask me. Instead we took a Euro player that is probably years away from even being over here to play.

I also can't believe that Ainge didn't pull off ONE single trade! What were the odds for that not happening before the draft started? Ainge will be extra busy in FA trying to get us a star player. He has to because we didn't get anything special in this draft.

Jaylen Brown & Deyonta Davis might end up being the best players we got but they're not going to be consistent All-Star players. I'd have to give us/Ainge a C grade in just a quick evaluation. I'll need to take a closer look later but we certainly didn't kill it.
