I think it's easy to forget how good Kyrie is. He is really damn good.

Injuries are a concern, for sure. I also don't know how he reacts to NYC when he's apparently disgruntled in Boston which has better all-around talent.

Playing with KD won't change the fact that the rest of the roster are also young, inexperienced players.

But Kyrie is too good to care about those other things.

Right, and the dude is a killer. He's a guy you want on your team in the playoffs. He's tough, isn't afraid of the spotlight, etc. I'm aware of his shortcomings and issues and I still want him.

If we don't get Kyrie then what do we have? Let's say we sign KD. Then? Gut the roster for AD? Pass on AD and keep the young core together, who are nowhere near good enough/ready enough to make a deep run in the playoffs even with KD? Throw a max at someone who doesn't deserve one, like Kemba?

KD/Kyrie should be Plan A by a mile.

That's what worries me....he wanted to be 'the man', he's on a team with great talent and he's disgruntled??? He just seems like a pain-in-the-***.

With PHX's big upset of GSW last night it seems like we're all but locked for the #1 slot. While the odds now stink, it is key to get the top spot so we can't fall farther than the 5th pick.

We're three games ahead (behind) in the Win column. I can't see us winning three of our last 15 games. Our next ten games are brutal. PHX should win a couple more games too.

Sometimes I go on tankathon and simulate the lottery to cry myself to sleep...

Sitting through what is going to end up being a 65+ loss season for a 14% (for any Friends fans, read 14% in the escalating echoes of Ross yelling "my sandwich") chance at the top pick.

Now if you're one of the teams like the Lakers, or Pelicans, what incentive do you have past the ASB to win games instead of trying to get as high a pick possible? Just give us Zion. I'm going to lose my **** when the Mavericks get him.

Ja Morant looks like Russ, I guess we would trade DSJ if we got 3 and Zion and RJ are gone?

The range of outcomes this summer is pretty nuts for us, just hope if things don't work out, stay patient and run it back.

You don't want them to max Middleton when all else fails??

Put it this way: we max that man and Dolan is going to have to make a much more urgent call to security than he did for the guy who told him to sell the team.

The hilarity of the lottery reform is that it will probably create more prolonged tanking. If we get the 5th pick this year then we are tanking our asses off next year as well (assuming we strike out in FA). The league has made it harder for the worst teams to improve. That's not a smart idea.

Ja Morant looks like Russ, I guess we would trade DSJ if we got 3 and Zion and RJ are gone?
There's no reason to trade DSJ. He's a backup PG on a good team. Dallas was shopping him before the KP trade and there was "minimal interest" aka no one was willing to give up a 1st for him.

In no way an original thought, but its just so knicks that the first year we properly tank is the one they change the odds

Interesting that he said they're confident in what will happen in free agency this summer.

Nike has to be absolutely losing their minds getting this ad campaign together. New York sports are in complete disarray, they might as well light 35 on the Empire State Building like the Bat Signal.

They'll put it on the Brooklyn Bridge.
