His J was MIA during the preseason too. It might be time to reduce his minutes and give Grimes a shot.

He's shooting 21% from deep and 27% from the field.

I wonder if he's struggling shooting with the new ball too because it doesn't really make sense. And some of his misses aren't even close.

A note on RJ, he's currently shooting 81% at the rim, up from 61% last year. He's look great the last 3 games.

Obi’s gonna be a good one. I have no idea of his ceiling.

But with his size and athleticism he can do so many things on both ends of the floor if he keeps developing.

So glad we took him.

Absolute knee jerk reaction from Thibs. This fools started Elf the entire season but he takes Kemba out of the rotation.

I see why Thibs has been fired before.

It’s his stubbornness that cost us a few games already this season.

Kemba is what he is.

But my goodness it’s been Thibs having Randle and RJ finishing games that’s been ridiculous. If the bench is flowing let them finish it out.

Burks is best as a 2nd unit player. This is just going to make Randle handle the ball more which is a problem.

It’s always one step forward 200 steps back with this team.

I'm surprised that Kemba is just completely out of the rotation, but a change had to be made though I'm not sure this is going to solve much. Kemba was starting but not finishing the games and beyond his ability to draw charges, was a negative on defense. His +/- per 100 possessions is a staggering -25.5.

Rolling with Burks as the starting PG is a surprise to me, but he's been solid as a starter during the time he's been here. His problem has always been his health so we'll see how long he lasts playing 30+ mpg.

It's clear to me that Thibs is trying his best to keep the bench unit intact. And the plus to me is that it means more minutes for the young guys. Thibs really seems to trust Grimes and I'm anxious to see him play in more than 3 minute spurts. I feel like every shot he shoots is going to go in, most of his misses just rim out.

Maybe eliminating Kemba from the rotation will help Thibs see the problem isn't Kemba at all, but it's actually Julius...

That’s the thing.

I feel this has nothing to do with getting minutes to Grimes or McBride barring injury.

Thibs said he’s going to shorten the rotation.

Kemba is a P&R PG. I’d love to see the analytics on how often we ran the P&R with Kemba on the floor.

Can’t be much knowing that Randle is a black hole out there.

I feel like Kemba is being scapegoated.

This move means nothing to me unless IQ starts getting 25+ minutes which I doubt happens.

Thibs gonna run these guys into the ground. No one will have legs in the 4th. No minutes boost to Obi.

Burks is a spark off the bench especially when you have an inconsistent RJ. Having him as a lead guard just means Randle’s usage will go up.

To me the defense stuff was just an excuse. It doesn’t make sense.

I was actually looking at the PnR stats the other day and there's some interesting stuff in there.

Kemba is 3rd on the team generating .95 Points per Possesssion, good for the 73 percentile.
IQ is 2nd at 1.02 PPP, 85th percentile (he was previously in the 90s before the Atlanta game).

Number 1? Alec Burks, at 1.13 PPP, 94.6 percentile.
