I think Thibs will make it through the rest of the year and into next season but will be on a very short leash.

The last few games have been debacles. Every game almost the same. The Knicks start off playing with surprising pace and urgency, almost like a modern NBA team. Then they collapse in an unbelievable--but believable because they're the Knicks--wayat some point in the second half.

These are horrific losses too.

I hope Leon forces Thibs to shift into playing the young guys more and embracing the tank. There's no reason for Taj and Burks to be getting extended minutes.

This team is confusing. We're basically locked into this team one more season, unless we're able to move guys since they'll be on expirings.

As well as Mitch has played since the beginning of this year, I'd let him walk too unless he takes a team friendly deal. We have a flawed roster and we're stuck with Julius for the next 4 seasons. Not being able to spread the floor with a 5 that can shoot kills our spacing and hamstrings our offense.

The other thing worth mentioning is Leon brining in Gersson Rosas. I'm wondering how much of an impact this will have on the team over the next couple of seasons.

IMO it's too soon for him to be back in the league given how he was ousted at Minny, but Wolves fans seem to have a lot of respect for his basketball mind and his ability (notwithstanding his ability to create hostile work environments). It sounded like he's a modern basketball mind who prioritizes spacing, pace, and three point shooting but at the expense of defense and rebounding. He's also been praised for his ability to draft.

I could see his hiring and presence butting heads with Thibs philosophy and I can't help but wonder if this is the beginning of the end for Thibs.

Every game is a microcosm of last season. Only thing good right now is I feel vindicated because I wanted Kenny Atkinson, never wanted Thibs, and have always embraced the tank. Now when we reset and start over again after Thibs gets fired a month into next season, I’m just gonna be sitting back like Thanos. Pay Sam Presti 200 million dollars a year, dig Hinkie out of his grave, I hate it here.

I’m fine with cutting Thibs tonight and giving the keys to Johnnie Bryant.

I don’t have a problem with Leon Rose at the moment. There’s a disconnect between Rose and Thibs. They should’ve established that Reddish would get minutes before they gave up a 1st rounder for him.

Rose was probably like why should I pull another trade at the deadline if this guy keeps playing his favorites.

I could be wrong but Rose can’t get rid of Thibs? Only Dolan can?

Rose however should’ve dealt Derrick Rose and given him a chance to play on a contender.

I mean at a certain point only Dolan can do anything, it’s all his money, but if Leon Rose as the president of basketball operations can’t go to the owner and get his support for what needs to be done for the team, what is he even doing?

Yeah me too. We should’ve sold everyone outside of RJ.

For him to think that we were in a position to upgrade shows just how delusional and out of touch he really is.

I don’t normally root for people to be fired (except Adam Gase). But put the guy out of his misery and cut him a check to leave.

The league has evolved. Thibs hasn’t.

All the good feeling from last season is gone. This franchise reminds me of that old 70s song by Maxine Nightingale, "Right Back to Where We Started From". The front office and the coaching staff are not in synch, and right now, the Knicks are stuck in purgatory (again), which is the worse place for an NBA franchise to be, in the middle.

I was shocked that Noel and Taj racked up DNPs yesterday against Embiid. I can't think of any reason other than Leon pointing a gun at Thibs over all-star break.

It's been nice watching RJ continue to develop into a first option. He's calling for the ball every time down the court and just putting his head down and going to the rim no matter what.

Hoping to see more RJ and the young guys while losing games. We have the 4th toughest schedule remaining and it looks like it could be 2+ weeks before we play a team we can beat--Portland or Washington.

Anybody else refreshing Tankathon regularly?

It’s actually insane how bad the records are of the teams that are worse than us, it’s almost already too late to tank. We just have to hold for lottery luck, which is to say we should just try to figure out who we want with the 8th pick.

I think we can get down to 5th. Portland and Sacramento are trying to be competitive and Indy has enough talent and the 2nd easiest schedule to win games they shouldn't. So we actually probably need Burks to play 20+ mpg out of position to get there!
