Well, he said he tweaked Jukeman's sliders, which has the speed at 10.

      Definitely.

Guys, the problem isn't in the overall speed of the game. In fact, I just got done playing a guy online in a Pernell Whitaker vs. Antonio Barrera's bout and the punches were blazing... in fact, I felt our movement speed was a little too fast.

The real issue is the individual speed ratings of the boxers.

Muhammad Ali is the fastest heavyweight at 70. So if you're fighting heavyweight bouts of course it's going to be reaaaal slow. The real problem is in the individual ratings. If EA patched that and allowed us to get in there, we could fix the problems we're having.

The only thing we can do is pray that this is even possible to patch in and then ask them to do so.

Like he said, this also increases hand and counter speed to an unrealistic level allowing you and the CPU to connect at blazing high rates.

I agree completely with you guys on punch power, however. Punch powers lack oomph unless it's at at least nine and boxer toughness is at at least 3.

No, he is right - I have since dropped the speed to 6, and thinking of going lower. The further I get in legacy, the faster my punches are and it seems more normal - but the CPU throws punches faster than tony stewart drives.

Also, I just had a match where I got knocked out in the 9th round - good fight. Till I compared the fighter and realized I was a full 7 points higher in overall ratings and had the advantage in every single individual rating. I have since lower the difficulty, I want to match up the way the numbers say, so its back to the drawing board.

Most def. I realized this yesterday.

I think a big reason people are complaining about the speed is because they may go into a legacy where your speed, along with the CPU's is leveled to a low level... of course you're not gonna move fast with a barely 50+ speed, lol.

Since boxer speed is completely relative to weight class, I would advise people to adjust the speed slider for whatever rating they're trying to fix. For heavyweights, I recommend you to go no higher than 7(6 is ideal, imo)... in fact, I believe that's a push...

Here's the scale I use when playing this game, actually.

          Heavy = 6 or 7
Middle = 3 - 5 depending on defensive skills of user.
Light = 1 - 3 depending on defensive skills of user.
          Really lights(like bantam/flyweights) = 0 - 2

It's the simplest way I could think of to keep the punch speed from being incredibly overwhelming from the cpu.

Ank & Ben's Champion Simulation Sliders

            Difficulty: Champion
Length: 2 minute Rounds ( CPU average punch 50 but 3 mins can increase it; it's optional)
            Foul Awareness: 10
            Damage Awareness: 10
Boxer Power: 6 (Original was 8 which I felt was too high. Too much power results in short fights and an unrealistic balance. I saw jabs stunning me with barely any health.)
Boxer Speed: 3 ( 3 keeps the CPU in range to throw punches. Any higher and the CPU drops it's punch count. Plus the lower the speed, the less counters you eat from CPU.)
Physical Damage: 9 (I still think 9 is too much but because power was dropped to 6; I felt 9 was a good number. I'll try to test a full 12 round fight and determine the final number.)
Toughness: 3 (2 was the original number but I felt 3 had better results.)
            CPU OA: 0
            CPU DA: 10
CPU PO: 10 (trust me, this is a great number. You won't notice the CPU throwing so much punches unless your a slugger.)

After discussing Benicio's sliders I felt they were a bit too wild for a real boxing. Too much power, really fast and not enough punches thrown by CPU. I first started testing with speed and felt lowering the number would make the CPU throw more punches. It does seem kinda weird because if you raise the speed the CPU punches more faster which means more punches thrown right? WRONG! The slower the speed, the more normal the game feels and the easier it is for the CPU to chase you around the ring if you're a strategic fighter like me. This allows the CPU to throw punches rather then chase and do nothing. After adjusting the speed, the CPU still didn't throw enough punches. So I raised the output by 10 and decided to work down from there. I guess I didn't have to touch it.

I also felt the power was too much. I was getting stunned by jabs and knocked out by straights. It felt unrealistic since I never walk into punches. The rounds never lasted past 3. It was either me or the CPU winning by TKO. I decided 6 was the best number and allowed you to stretch the fights to later rounds. However, first round stuns are still there if you can counter with your boxers special punch. These sliders will make you a better counter puncher forcing you to work hard for your knock out early in the rounds.

Last but not least; the damage sliders. We had this at 10 which I felt was a bit too much. Getting cut up early in the first round didn't make sense. I went ahead and took it down a notch. I might be going down to 8 depending how the testing works out in 12 rounds.

Ok, start testing and letting me know how it all works out. Please do let me know what type of boxer you are. These sliders are good for strategic boxers, not the mindless "I want to be like Mike" sluggers who'll probably find themselves on the canvas if not too careful.

Okay, I have probably fought anywhere from 60-80 fights so far and have not had one of them stopped due to cuts - I have heard it mentioned multiple times by the announcers, but it hasnt happened.

Is it possible lowering referee awareness can increase this? I know it seems counter-intuitive but I'm fishing for ideas. Lowering toughness? I dunno.

I would think lowering toughness and/or raising power would cause more cuts earlier in a fight. I had one stop to cuts in all the fights i had. Leonard beat on some guy.

I've tried my best and the sliders I put up seem to work really good. We just have to wait and see what EA is doing on the other side.

                      *Stamina
                      *CPU Punch Power
                      *CPU Counter Punches

Those 3 are my major issues with FNR4. I tested my sliders with Mike Tyson vs Muhammad Ali and Ali with less punch power did more on me then I could with Tyson. Kinda didn't make sense but I'm guessing Champion mode is probably giving the CPU the edge. I'll have to tweak some settings on Pro.

I tested your theory ^^^^ I created two CAB's, one at all 75 and one at all 65 with the same style. I used the all 75 guy and the 65 guy had more power on his punches, stun or not. I landed more, connected with a higher percentage, landed more counters and it was all I could do to win by decision. I tweaked the sliders more on Champion and it helped some, but it was still a full ten round decision. I think the CPU has a slight edge on Champion. Not much, but a little. Maybe it's rubber band AI, I don't know. I am still learning about this game and the techniques.

That was very smart of you to do. I didn't think about creating characters like you did; maybe because I'm lazy lol. Good job none the less, it proves we're right. I think champion level is made for those who want more of a challenge. I doubt it's good for simulation since you take so much damage it'll be harder to survive the later rounds. However, if you can survive 10-12 rounds you can easily win by decision. This tells me the CPU offense need to move up from 0 to 1 or 2. The CPU accuracy is not that great; but they're amazing at counter punches. This game confuses me.
