How many haymakers do you guys throw?

I can't throw them, my right hand just doesn't work that way. My hands are too small to hold the RB and use the stick at the same time. It's not a natural, comfortable motion, so I just don't use them.

I have a question for Parker and Shaun.

How are your sliders doing on Legacy. I know the first bunch of fights are cupcakes but once I move up in the rankings are the fights impossible with sliders or do they play fair. I want to start my legacy but am afraid that once I am in title contention I will be facing superman with no chance in hell. I love a challenge but I don't want it to be impossible to beat a high ranking opponent. There should always be a chance for me to win no matter how small it is. Bascially how your sliders doing in the later fights in your legacy?

I can provide some insight into Shaun's sliders.

I had a trilogy against James Toney for belt. The first fight I had on the cards by decision, BUT I screwed up the corner game after the 11th round. I hit B to back out instead of putting my points into damage. Guess what? The fight was stopped with only seconds to go before I was crowned the new Heavyweight Champion.

I fought scared that fight because he was rated so much higher than me and except for my stupid thumbs at the end I did great. In the second fight my cab was more developed and I went in thinking I would clean his clock. I was KO'd in the 9th round.

Finally, I got one more shot at him for part 3. I remembered the first fight and stayed outside. Opened up a cut on his cheek and then exploited his body when he started to protect his face. My efforts paid off and I won by KO.

            Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

I actually tested these in legacy first, and then fight now. I used them in my light heavy and middleweight legacies. Something you may want to do is lower the speed when you go down in the weight classes. I didn't do that, but it may help you. I didn't see a speed difference in weight classes.

As far as power issues, that's why I do power at eight. I have had a few go the distance, but at the same time I constantly felt the fight could end at any time. Saying that, I will lower the counter window to two and punch accuracy to two or three when the new sliders are released and work from there.

If you want to slug it out on GOAT you should lower the speed to zero or one and lower the CPU DEF AI to 5 or 6.

Something I am going to do (when I get my 360 back today) is try the sliders below to see how they work. Feel free to test them now and see how they work.

            Ref sliders both 10
            Power 8
            Speed 2/3/4
            Damage 6
            Toughness 7/8
CPU AI both 5 initially, then 5/7, 7/5 and 7/7
            Output 0

Let me know if these help people having issues with too many counters and no power.

When I get the 360 back I will make a set for sluggers.

I used them in fight now with all kinds of different fights after using them in legacy. I change my sliders for training (up the speed to ten) but that's about it. When I get to the upper levels I get good fights, but you do have to be careful fighting guys that are 8+ points better than you in most categories. I fight twenty fights and get in forty or so training sessions before I try to get into the top ten.

                  Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

I just don't think I'm good enough to play on GOAT.

I've spent some time practicing nothing but blocking and get decent results over a period of 1-2 rounds before the AI break me. So then I try bob and weave with the left stick swoops, and it too works for 1-2 rounds. I've tried throwing more haymakers and they DO damage, but they're so slow and wild that you have to have the perfect opportunity to throw them or they're a waste.

And on top of all that, you have to throw punches with the right stick.

I can do any ONE of those things rather well. I cannot for the life of me do ALL OF THEM at once and not just get killed. I've gotten knocked out before round 3 in my last 3 fights, as Lennox Lewis vs. Eddie Chambers.

Honestly, I don't think I'm good enough to play on Champion either. I'm about ready to trade this game in, it's just too frustrating.

How do you enjoy a legacy when there's no difficulty level that suits you? I have my choice between going undefeated on Pro or getting knocked out over and over on Champion/GOAT.

Have you adjusted the AI on GOAT, say to five and five or zero and zero?

Yeah, it really doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, lowering CPU defensive awareness at all seems to make it worse.

I just don't think I'm skilled enough to play on that level.

could you give me some examples of figths you had and what your record in legacy. What was your first loss like? Just trying to get an idea how legacy is. In fight Night 3 I played on default level and won most of my figths easily. I am going to use Tyson in fight night 4, so I want to be able to dominate but I want it to be a challenge at the same time.

i used the sliders up front for my last legacy before my 360 RROD'd. In my last complete legacy I used a variation of parkers, but on champion. I finished undefeated as GOAT with all wins by KO. It was hard, but I was very careful, pushing the fight to my advantage with a 6'2" 220lb inside fighter. Hey Jetsfan, when I get my 360 back I am going to add you to my list. Cool?
