Just picked up the game (FNC) and was curious about what the must haves with this game are?

Is the game a lot better with certain patches or all of them, or none of them?

Also what would you guys most slider set be? I'd consider myself a pretty good fighter. I'm just noticing that when I fight Legacy even amateurs are pressing me like they're Tyson or something. Also the jab for some of these fighters are doing absurd amounts of damage.

    Any info is appreciated,
    Thanks
Wow, you're pretty late to the party man ;p I'd suggest going no higher than Champion in difficulty level. Don't download the tuners or patches...

See how those play, I can't remember which tuner messed up the facial damage. Check out my sliders on Boxer Share, and there may be some other good ones there for download. I would also take a look at Fight Night Creations's boxer edits/sliders (google that).

    Enjoy!

^You'll get cuts with almost any damage setting.

I popped in this game the other night after watching the Donaire fight. Probably first time in nearly a year. If you play on GOAT with everything clicked 2 ticks to the right from the middle, you get a pretty good game. Too many knockdowns though.

I played Tyson vs. Ali. I was Tyson, he was mopping me up through 4, then I 1 punch KO'd him in the 5th with a left hook.

Replayed the fight and second time Ali won a Unanimous decision.

Hearns stopped Timothy Bradley on cuts in the 6th.

RJJ vs. Hagler....Hagler won on a 10th round KO. He knocked me down 4 times.

Gonna have to play this some more. It was more fun than I remembered.

Fist you just say GOAT with everything to the right two clicks? I am about to pick the game back up after I knock out some of the tough stuff this semester. I just remember the CPU pressing me like crazy when I first played, as if they were Sergio Martinez vs. Ceasar Chavez Jr. Swear the CPU was throwing 100 punches a round

Yeah I'm fairly late lol, lots of MLB The Show for me. Lately I have had this renewed love for boxing. Maybe I just appreciate the sport more than ever the older I have gotten.

You say no tuners and patches at all are best? Assuming the patches are what they want you to download at the beginning? What about tuners are those downloaded when you first turn on the game as well or through EA online?

            Thanks

I play on 2 minute rounds and the AI throws about 60 to 70 punches per round. The clock is stilll a 3 minute clock, just is accelerated.

Its a game, you have to remember that. In real life, there are alot of things that drain time off the clock, you can't have all that stuff in a game.

If you wanty less punches, just lower CPU punch output and lower stamina. This will get you lower output and make it so the human will punch themselves out if you throw too much.

40 punches per round though, even on 2 minutes is pretty boring though because there isn't all the other things that happen in a real match going on in this game. The way I look at it is, its still boxing, you still have to pick your spots and defend even if the punch output is a tad high.

                No.

It needs to be as real as possible. We already have plenty of arcade boxing games.

EA sports needs to get their **** together and appease the sim fans.

Well then get to work on a game that has a ton of clinching in it and other things that drain the clock. Or just go to the gym and spar and get the real thing.

I want a realistic boxing game too, but not sure how you are going to simulate 30 punches a round for Heavyweights in 3 real minute rounds and have the game be engaging.

I wont make anything. Somebody will though and they need to focus on realism. It's the only option. You can make the game diverse enough and give realistic options and outcomes if you put enough care and effort into it.

I won't make the game but i'll help fund it if need be. ADHD generation loves the arcade crap so i'm sure we'll continue to get the cartoon unrealistic crap.

weird thing that thread is empty but a very heavy discussion is going on boxing category, if we have to discuss on any topic so we should know about the topic.

i think the sliders behave differently on different patches / tuners. so it makes posting a slider set difficult.

So I got this game used a few weeks ago, I enjoy it for what it is.

There is just one thing. The boxers I download keep disappearing. If I have more than 74 on my custom boxers the next time I play they are gone. I believe you can have up to 98 custom boxers.

Is there a fix for this at all? I have the PS3 version by the way.

Probably not getting Canelo Alvarez VS Erislandy Lara, but it's temping. Odds are pretty close with Alvarez about an 8-5 favorite. Ooopppss. wrong thread.

Just picked this game up and it is fun. I'm just puzzled at how the sliders work. I've downloaded a few old boxers since I know more about them than any of the new guys. Anyway, I've noticed the game is more tuned to big hit, low # of rounds. I want the more realistic settings, where big punchers tire out after 4 or 5 rounds, but still can knock guys out with a big punch. I play on the default difficulty. Should I raise stamina and lower punch power? I've noticed by round 6 both guys are gassed (even the old school guys who could go 15 rounds).
