    Re: Mayweather-Ortiz Sept 16th

Leonard Ellerbe is a piece of garbage...watching him hide behind Floyd during the post fight interview talking smack to Merchant was pathetic. I wish someone would knock that clown out.

WTF was Ortiz thinking? That was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen someone do in a boxing ring...he was at least starting to get back into the fight, why would you ever butt someone like that?

I'm not one to defend Floyd but I can't say I blame him, if someone headbutted me like that and then I had the chance to take a couple of free shots at him I'd probably do it.

Having said that, this is nothing new from Floyd...he's done this crap before, go back to the Gatti fight. It's ridiculous and he didn't need to do it.

Joe Cortez is a terrible referee and has no business officiating high profile fights like this anymore....period.

Also found it hilarious watching Floyd try to squirm out of Merchant's questions and then ducked them all, in turn launching a tirade against him...stay classy Floyd.

So it wasn't a cheap shot. Just keep ya damn guard up.

My thoughts is Floyd wins in 11. But i think of they fought it would be worth every penny. Floyd is the greatest defensive fighter i've ever seen. He has mastered boxing hit and don't get hit. He has broken down countless fighters with a straight right hand. Manny would bring out the very best in Mayweather but now that he has put his hand problems behind him Floyd has power not KO power but the kind of power that over 12 rounds will break a guy down.

Floyd in 11 if the fight happens in 2012.

if its not called a cheap shot then its a sucker punch with ortiz being the sucker for not having his guard up-protecting-himself-at-all-times, as what boxing is supposed ta be. however those were legal sucker punches thrown by mayweather as a payback to ortiz the quitter who initiated the illegal head shot.
at the end of the day money may still victorious. never been down never been knockedout never been defeated. 42-0 and counting...

Lol! Another classless fight from two jerks. Mr. Coward won't fight the obvious fight that will prove he's the best and Ortiz is still a dumb fighter. No one actually expected Ortiz to win. This is just another BS fight in a long line of BS fights that Mr. Coward has to avoid getting his wig flipped by Mr. Pacquiao. It's actually quite funny. Mr. Coward cons these idiots out of money and we have to watch BS fights. He gets paid and we get screwed. I've heard all the arguments about this special drug test that only Manny should take. Another joke. Mr. Coward fights bums without making them take the test. Sheesh! Professional boxing is a joke and Mr. Coward is the punchline. Until this honorless circus act fights Manny Pacquiao and proves me wrong, I'll stand by what I believe. And before anyone accuses me if being a racist...I'm an African American that doesn't respect classless jerks. (Mr. Coward = Floyd Mayweather Jr.)

IMO, Pernell Whitaker first then FM in my book.

To get in on the FM v Pac discussion, I agree that FM wins vs MP. Due to the inferior competition MP has been facing, as is this Marquez joke of a fight, MP has gotten into some bad habits in the ring and is truly why the Top Rank/Bob Arum strategy to get him in the ring.

Clottey, Cotto, Magarito, Hatton, old DeLaHoya, old Mosely and now with Marquez, all these guys = bait to MP. Chum in a shark tank. None of them had the combo of speed and or strength to compete and they were easy work.

IMO the biggest issue in the MP vs FM debate is that MP hasn't fought enough slick fighters/FM styled fighters with that hand speed to keep him off balance and that is why it makes it hard for me to believe he will just go in the ring and KO FM like he has every other fighter.

This is not the first, nor last time a fighter will be dropped with this guard down. When you are in any fight, let alone a championship title fight with YOUR title on the line....you should always be in fighter mode until the fight is over. Some will argue it was a cheap shot, I disagree. Not because I am a Floyd lover, I am not. But because in boxing, any one moment can turn the tide or end the bout. No other sport is like it, not even MMA. You can't turn your back or drop your guard in boxing at any point until the fight is over. It really is that simple.

When I get a closer look at this in slomo it seems like Floyd is tryin to tell the dude to put his dukes up and then when he didn't there was a "What did I tell U!" moment.

This is definitely the funniest sporting event I've seen in my lifetime lol.

EDIT: I might be mistaken but I think in his fight with Moseley there was a moment like this. It didn't result in a knockdown but I'm pretty sure Floyd didn't want to touch gloves or something. He's all business in the boxing ring lol.
