Yep. Outside of PPV payday no reason for GGG to even consider this.

I think he's scared to face GGG period, and a 155 pound demand is a good way to automatically disqualify himself. What a joke..both Cotto and Canelo acting like divas to avoid Golovkin...it's almost embarrassing.

Does anyone give Fury a shot against Klitschko?

^I'll give him a bit of a chance due to his size.

One thing as far as the GGG thing i wanted to add. I can understand people being mad about him being ducked, BUT, you're being a bit too hard on cotto,we all know damn well he's not a middleweight, not a real one. Canelo clearly can move up in weight. But i would be a lot more annoyed about it if GGG hadn't done the exact same thing that's happening to him now, to ward. Remember when he said he would fight froch or chavez jr at 168, but with ward he said he'd only fight him at a catchweight, and then his team went on to say GGG was the A side and ward doesn't do good numbers, then preceded to do piss poor ppv numbers on his first ppv. Now canelo(who is the A side and is a much bigger star) is doing the same thing and using that for leverage with GGG. I'm not saying it's right, but what goes around comes around, look at the whole picture. All of these guys are making fights more difficult than they should be.

              Re: Boxing Off-Topic

Golovkin didn't do the exact same thing-not even close. Whether he wanted a catchweight fight with anybody is irrelevant. GGG was not trying to lay claim to a 168 title by insisting for a super middleweight championship bout at 164.

Ward is not on solid footing here. He got the then light heavyweight champion (Chad Dawson) to fight for his super middleweight crown. He has already used the "weight advantage" card.

And I could care less about Cotto being a true middleweight. Don't cling to 160 title when it is convenient to do so and then give it up when it's more convenient. Sergio Martinez didn't ask a powerful middleweight in Kelly Pavlik to fight him at 155 did he?

                Re: Boxing Off-Topic

GGG said he would fight ANYBODY from his class to 168 at one point, and then when ward said they should fight, he added stipulations like a catchweight, and claimed they were the a side and they get to dictate terms just like canelo did. http://www.boxingscene.com/team-ggg-...e-terms--94863 Now canelo is doing the same because he feels he's the A side, and he is. It's the same thing. How is him asking for a catchweight irrelevant when people are getting mad at canelo for doing the same thing? And again, i think it's BS in BOTH situations, whether there is a title involved or not, it's still the same thing(or at least very similar), they were both asking for catchweights that they shouldn't be.

You realize Chad said he had no problem with that weight before the fight right? And using your logic, since he was fighting for ward's super middleweight belt, he should have to beat him at his weight class right? I get that Ward has been inactive for a while, but you can't just write off the fact that while he was active most credible sources had him rated in the top 3 p4p.

All i'm saying with cotto, is that it makes more sense for him to not want anything to do with GGG, he really shouldn't be fighting at that weight class, and i've said before, i thought cotto should just drop the belts if he isn't gonna fight his mandatory fights.

Because Canelo is the MIDDLEWEIGHT (160) champion. Just give the title up and say, "Hey GGG, let's fight at a non-title catchweight of 155". The organizations (WBA, IBF, WBC) may not deserve anyone's respect but the weight class distinctions do. Like Cotto, he is bigger than the sport.

I kind of figured that. He took the fight.

Of course he should of, but Ward was not willing to go up despite his "high pound for pound rating" and an opportunity to get another title. He chose to get the advantage. More power to him.

I'm not equating Ward's position with the diva like attitude of Cotto and Canelo. I am equating it with GGG asking for a catchweight to fight Ward. And let's face it. Do you think either fighter really wanted that fight?

Sometimes it's as simple as economics. GGG was willing to go to 155 to fight Floyd.

                    Anyway, minor disagreement.

And I agree SPRING, that Fury has a small chance. (Still holding as a 7-2 underdog).

Wow, Bryant Jennings versus Luis Ortiz December 19th. Jennings showed a lot in his loss to Klitschko, but shows me even more by taking this fight. Ortiz is scary.

I'm not sure if under the Heyman/PBC banner we'll ever know...not sure how often they will fight outside of there promotion.

Know little about them. The slight difference in their names is confusing. (Jermell, Jermall)

I see where JERMALL Charlo is defending his IBF 154 title on what I assume is the undercard of the Errol Spence fight, but it could be the other way around.

That fight appears to be close in time to Klitschko/Fury.

Jermall Charlos & Erroll Spence fights on NBC-Premiere Boxing Champions (2-5 PM CST).

Klitschko/Fury and possible Cotto-Canelo replay, (3:45-5:25 PM CST).

Busy day with the fights I mentioned plus James DeGale vs. Lucian Bute for DeGale’s 168 IBF title. It's basically a last chance for Lucian who comes in at a considerable 5-1 underdog. It's been tough sledding since Froch battered him, but I'd like to see him pull it out.
