Yeah, i also didn't think it would be that low. You know, in a way i find that annoying. I hear all these people(often casuals) saying things like "this will be a real fight" "this ain't no gayrunner fight". Why the hell don't people like this who complain about there not being enough action fights or kos or toe to toe action or whatever the hell they want, don't support what they want? That's stupid, and that's another reason i don't like a lot of casual fans.

I dunno, after those numbers, maybe GGG isn't quite ready for ppv or he hasn't exploded as much as hbo is saying he has. I honestly thought he would have more support than that.

don't worry yet.....it was his first ppv and he was going against a virtual unknown. it's sad because this guy delivers and there is no superfight on the horizon.

I think there's truth in what you say, but guys like Floyd, Pac, Oscar, and to a lesser extent Cotto and Canelo have or had a built in fan base that guarantees them certain numbers. I would say most of those fans care little about any bout their fighter is not in. The hardcore boxing fan is not enough to significantly raise you're numbers.

GGG probably needs a better opponent, but it remains to be seen if he can hit some significantly better numbers. It's not like he's drawing from the now available Mayweather MEGA fan base.

It appears that it will be a Kovalez-Pascal rematch January 30th. The BoxRec website shows the fight scheduled on each fighters' record page.

Does anything change in this fight from the first. I don't see Pascal doing much to change the outcome.

i think Kovalev will have an easier night the second time around with Pascal. i look for him to fight smarter defensively without sacrificing any offense. Krusher by KO - round 5....just a hunch

I think kovalev will win, probably by stoppage. But i don't mind the rematch too much, i mean who else is there right now for him? Plus, it was a good fight. And pascal actually did better than i thought he would and he was landing some bombs on kovalev and might of hurt him, it could be argued that the stoppage was a bit early also.

I'll watch the fight but don't anticipate as much resistance from Pascal in the rematch.

Beterbiev is still out there, but no one is running to fight him.

Terrence Crawford against Dierry Jean (29-1, 20 KOs). Despite the record Crawford is a massive favorite.

Not a Pac fan but I'd pay to see him fight Crawford.

                    Tonight on HBO.

That would be a terrific fight! I'd love to see that one!

I'd actually like to see Pac end his career fighting either Crawford, Khan or Garcia (at 143? - even though I HATE catchweights).

I'm reading Angelo Dundee's book "My view from the corner : a life in boxing".
I'm at the part where he's about to fight Haglar.
I've also read Leonards book "The big fight : my life in and out of the ring".

I admit, I was a big Haglar fan as a kid.
I just loved his no-nonsense approach and oldschool aura.

It's been a few years since I re-watched this fight, but I came away feeling like Haglar won by a round or two.
Leonard did a great job of finishing each round strong with a flashy combo (that mostly did no damage or land many punches). I think that helped him win more rounds than he deserved.
Rounds 1-4 were mostly his, but I thought Haglar was the much stronger fighter from rounds 5-12.

                        But again, I'm probably biased.

                        Anyone watch this fight recently?
And who did you have winning?

Saw the fight several times including live in a conference room at the SuperDome with each table getting a 13 inch TV, and an endless buffet of great food...cost $80.

I'm biased too as I was a Leonard fan, and didn't expect him to have a chance, but I thought he clearly won (8-4). It might be the most "fan debated" decision of all time, with few supporters of each fighter going against their favorite. I thought Leonard piled enough early points with some pretty meaningful punches to "almost coast" to a decision. I think one judge scored it 10-2 Leonard which was a little too much.

I wasn't a fan of Hagler, and less after the fight. He was not a gracious loser.

Crawford got violently tagged a few times by Dierry Jean. His chin held up but I wonder what happens if he's receiving those blows from Pac?

Nothing really interest me until Canelo-Cotto on November 21st. Is anyone else interested in these slightly later fights?

November 28th: Klitschko VS Tyson Fury (Fury holding as a 7-2 underdog)

December 5th: Daniel Jacobs vs. Peter Quillin

I'm not really too pumped up for Bradley-Rios next week.
