I've heard talks of bradley vs canelo(if he wins) and that's an interesting matchup, but GGG should get the winner of canelo cotto.

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Since the announcement of Cotto/Canelo, I personally never gave Cotto a chance and now I'm feeling he may have a better chance than I am giving credit.
My vision of the fight:
R1-4: Cotto boxing sharply head and body. Alvarez countering and landing with more authority.
I see the rounds split 3-1 Cotto
R5-8: Alvarez starts timing Cotto better and slowly walking him down and hitting head and body with authority. Cotto still landing boxing well, but showing signs of slowing down.
I see the rounds spit 2-2
R9-12: Cotto fatigued from staying on his toes and Alvarez fully on attack mode.

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
To be fair, that's because in that fight bradley had a chip on his shoulder and wasn't fighting the way he should of/could of(he could of easily outboxed provo but instead tried to bang with him). I'd pick canelo to beat bradley, but i would still give bradley a chance.Comment

Yeah, easily more lucrative fights for him, and the possibility to actually be a busy fighter before his prime is past.Moderator

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Cotto has been stripped of his lineal WBC Title.
Now for on how the fight finishes who becomes champion.
The WBC also announced that if Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) wins Saturday's fight, he will claim the vacant WBC belt. Alvarez would also displace Cotto as lineal champion. If Cotto wins he will remain lineal champion but WBC interim titleholder Gennady Golovkin will be elevated to full WBC titlist.
So either win or loss Cotto is not the title holder anymore right?Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Yeah, the WBC frowns on you not giving them money.
Cotto had agreed to pay GGG the $800,000 "step aside fee" and $125,000 more to the WBC, but that wasn't enough for them. So GGG doesn't get the $800,000, and Cotto will not be the WBC champion under any circumstances.
More than one report suggests that in addition to saving $1.1 million, it becomes easier for Cotto to avoid Golovkin. By not having the belt, he loses the pressure of a mandated fight with GGG. Why fight him when you can get Thurman, Bradley, Brook, or Pac at 154-155 for probably more money?
I think it's mostly about the money. With or without the belt, he's going to do what he wants to do.Comment

I just gotta laugh at Oscar De La Hoyas comments about Cotto not paying that sanctioning fee when he did the exact same thing before the first Shane Mosley fightComment
