It's not that he's just too big though. If Khan had a better chin, defense and focus he'd have a good shot of winning.... Floyd Mayweather style.

But he only has the hand speed.

In other words if he was a completely different fighter.

Haha....yea, pretty much. Just saying the size/power difference could have been overcome. Not by him though

Yeah, it could've been but there is a reason they picked Khan to be fed to Alvarez. They knew his chin would make for a highlight KO. No one in boxing thought that fight was going 12 rounds.

Seeing Alvarez point to GGG and invite him into the ring, and then say that fighting him at 160 would be 'no problem' at the post-fight scrum, there's no way he can run and hide now.
DLH will have to make this fight. This is the only fight for either man at this point.

Of course he can. You know as well as anyone if there's a reason for team Canelo (or team GGG, although that seems less likely) to duck/delay the fight, they'll figure it out. Canelo will have a training injury, there will be contract snafus, etc. etc. etc. And it will all be presented such that Canelo has plausible deniability so all the while he's claiming "I want to fight GGG!", his people can do anything and everything to gum up the works. It's a big part of why the sport has zero legitimacy.

All he has to do is use the 155 pound catchweight duck.

he could, but he can't hide behind that forever....there is no one left for him or ggg to fight. missed this one, but it was exactly like i expected. just a matter of time before canelo got to his glass jaw. glad i didn't pay for this one either. probably won't pay for another one until canelo faces ggg. doubt anyone else does either.

boxing-fans ain't stupid. Bunch of bums boxing outthere. Lewis, Klitchko's, Tyson, Holyfield....those are champs, real boxers, they had ton of great fights, rematches etc.

Sometimes you may duck one for specific reasons (opponent still too strong, big $-fight etc.), but in the end you have to take any fight to be known in boxing history.

Like Lennox L. said once, he never wanted to retire without fighting Tyson, coz what would the people say outside there if he wouldn't fight him. and that's basically true. He fought him, he won it. Everything was clear.

Alvarez has a substantial Mexican fan base so he'll make his money fighting the Charlo brothers, middleweights drained by his catchweights or 147 guys who want to quadruple their earnings. Rumors have Kahn making $13 million for this fight, so no telling what Canelo made.

The only difference might be that he will not have a 160 pound title to defend.

Lennox had 17.5 million reasons to take that fight....oh yeah, and he wanted to be remembered too.

yeah, money is important on any sports... it doesn't work without, but the evils are their managers/promoters hunting for their cuts. Basically those are the guys destroying boxing with boring fights.

So kahn talks about canelo ducking ggg but then turns around and ducks Brooks

He revealed also that Álvarez outweighed him by 23lbs by the time they got in the ring, having each scaled 155lbs at Friday afternoon’s weigh-in.

“I walked into the ring at around 162lb and he was a lot heavier, near to 185. He wasn’t hurt when I hit him. I didn’t expect him to be that big and I’ve never really been hit that hard before. I stepped up too far and took something I shouldn’t have taken, but I’m in the peak of my career.
Incredible. A middleweight fighting a Cruiserweight.
And Yellow has the audacity to claim he's not big enough for GGG yet?
He'd probably outweigh Golovkin by 10 lbs!

Re: Khan, I read he doesn't want to fight Brooks because he simply doesn't like him.
Khan has yet to duck anyone so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
He's also hungry for a rematch with Garcia. In their first fight I had Khan winning until he got dusted.
Garcia's a very strong fighter, but he can also be easily outboxed.
If Khan goes into that fight knowing he's going all 12, and not looking for the KO, I think he can beat Garcia. And handily.

I can understand the rematch with Garcia which is fine. If he doesn't like Brook than I think he should fight him then. Love fights when there is real bad blood. Nothing better. I still think kahn thinks he is a bigger star than he actually is.
