Who doesn't love the short left hook. The most devastating punch I've seen in a decade. Actually can't remember a more precise KO.

      Right up there with:

In post fight interview with Lemieux, Kellerman called it a "Julian Jackson-esque" KO punch.

Explanation-talking about great KO punches in general, not necessarily left hooks.

I was at the Lemieux-Stevens fight, sitting only about 30 feet from ringside. Easily the most devastating KO I've seen in person, and I go to most fight cards at Turning Stone, which is about an hour from my house.

Concern for Stevens' health quickly replaced the initial electricity from the KO. Glad he's OK. My buddy stood along the bike racks when Stevens was wheeled out on a stretcher and said he wasn't all there at all despite being conscious.

Good thing the Lemieux-Stevens fight delivered because the Gamboa fight was a total snoozer. I doubt we'll see Gamboa on HBO again. Talk about a fighter who has completely blown his career chances over the years.

Then again, Gamboa follows the model of almost every Cuban fighter other than Luis Ortiz. They all have extensive amateur backgrounds in which they're taught to score points and avoid danger. Gamboa isn't much different than Lara or Rigondeaux in that regard. Very skilled and pretty damn boring.

As of a week and a half ago Antonio Tarver was trying to get a fight with Ortiz. He had put in three months of training for a fight against Gerald Washington, which was cancelled because Washington was instead served up to Deontay Wilder in a fight many of us OSers watched.

Antonio.. retire already. Ortiz will destroy you.

Yep. Really good amateurs, really boring pros. If Rigondeaux was fighting in my backyard, I probably wouldn't even open the blinds to watch.

Good thing I didn't bet that Stevens-Lemiuex fight....I guess 3-1 was right on.

Every time I hear about Tarver wanting to fight or see Roy Jones Jr. fight some nobody in Romania, one word bounces around my head:

              WHY?

It doesn't have to be this way. Lomachenko fought like an amateur -- literally -- early in his career. He scored points, avoided danger and used his incredible technique and skill.

That's why he lost to the crafty Orlando Salido.

Now Lomachenko is engaging more, letting his hands go and is becoming a much more popular fighter and draw. I think he's one of the most intoxicating blends of skill and aggression in the sport. Love watching him fight since he's become more of an animal.

I can't speak on jones but I think with Tarver it is financial. Child support or bankruptcy. Something like that. He needs to just stick with the tv gigs

Yeah, I just read an article that sums up Tarver's predicament and it ain't good:

                      Tarver -$

Definitely not money. I think it's more then the limelight because his recent fights are low-light.

What drives me nuts about Holyfield is he couldn't keep it in his pants or use protection.
I think half his kids came from extra-marital affairs.
If he practiced what he preached, he'd still have that mansion in Atlanta - which he paid for with cash.
