Were there any good undercard fights on the Canelo-Kirkland card? I missed the original broadcast so I had to do the HBO Go version, which only had the main event. Yet another place where Showtime boxing presentation is superior...(their Showtime Streaming App will have the entire card).

Two unranked fighters provided the main undercard. I didn't watch it.

Me neither but what a fight!

This fight and the GGG fight in NYC were both awesome.

The PBC cards I've pvr'd because they are so well advertised online that I seem to always know when they are on. For the most part they have been at times quite good and other times a little so-so.

a quick not to others who pvr those cards because of the air times or life in general ... you can easily miss the end of fights because the block didn't contain the whole event, so you may have to pvr the following program just to make sure.

Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.

Yeah, if I tape a bout, I always extend the recording one hour.

Thanks. Guess I probably didn't miss much.

the fight HBO was supposed to air got cancelled cause one of the fighters missed weight. By like 6 pounds i think Lampley said
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

GGG took some pretty good shots from Curtis Stevens at the end of the 4th round.

                  GGG VS Willie Monroe Saturday.

Monroe should last about 18 seconds, and that includes the three seconds he brings into the ring with him.*

                  *from classic Gleason line.

Dead horse already but Manny might have made a fight of it 5-6 years ago. If you didn't know it the way people were talking about it you would think Manny is the older fighter.

Yeah, but it's a classic case of "it's not the years, it's the mileage" with Pac.

Canelo might want a few more fights before taking GGG on.

I dunno, i think canelo vs GGG could be pretty competitive actually. I give an edge to GGG because of his power, size, and ability to cut off the ring, but he was getting caught alot by monroe, he's definitely hittable, and canelo has power. Not to mention, canelo also has a solid chin and has been in there with and beaten much better guys than GGG has. It would be an entertaining fight, and i definitely wanna see that more than cotto fighting either one of them.

The fight tonight was pretty damn good though, monroe actually put up a bit of a fight(more than i thought he would). GGG is really accurate, i like his body work.

What's impressive is GGG putting his hands down and basically LETTING Monroe get head shots in to try and make it a fight...

Hmmm...much better? Lara is the best fighter Canelo has beaten (Sugar Shane was on the WAY downside) but did he beat him? Trout is good, but how much better is he then Geale, Murray, or Macklin? I don't see much disparity in the quality of their opponents.

I'd love to see the fight though. I would give Alvarez a small chance.

I'd give Canelo more than a small chance. GGG does not give great defense. Against a big puncher his chin will be tested.
