I agree completely, but the problem is: what fights are there at 140 for Garcia? Other than Crawford, there aren't enough big-name or big-interest fights for him to continue campaigning at 140, even though I wholeheartedly agree that it's probably the best weight for Mikey at this point.

That's a big problem for Mikey. Besides Crawford:

      (1) Postol, (2) Indongo, (3) Orozco, (4) Prograis, (5) Granados, (6) Troyanovsky, (7) Lipinets, (8) Barthelemy, (9) Taylor, (10) Catterall

These are The Ring ratings. Crawford fights Indongo (22-0, 11 KOs) August 19th.

wouldn't mind seeing mikey against one of the top ten guys and if he fares well, maybe take on crawford.....orozco might be a good matchup for him.

Mikey-Crawford won't happen any time soon. Garcia is a Showtime fighter; Crawford is an HBO fighter.

Plus Mikey is a true 135-pounder, while Crawford is struggling to make 140 and will stay at welter very soon.

Have to agree with the majority....I'm really not sure where Broner goes from here. It's clear he's not competitive at 147, and he's a cut below the top-flight at 140 based on what we saw last night...
Hopefully straight into retirement and out of Cincinnati, where he will be lucky to live to see his 30th birthday. People are shooting at the dude every time he's in town. Maybe he should take his "About Billions" and look into a lodge in Montana and just go away.

Boxing fans everywhere would rejoice. The guy is a complete fraud who has reached his limited ceiling. He's the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. of 140.

Co-sign. But Khan is even bigger than Crawford. Could he make 140, and would his size and speed be too much for Garcia?

Garcia would have a chance in that fight, though. Khan has a glass jaw, one of the worst chins among major global contenders in any weight class.

I'm not suggesting that Khan go down to 140. It would have to be at 147 or best case scenario for Garcia a catchweight of 144 or 145.

BOO to catchweights! I despise them.

There are too many weight classes already in boxing, and the waters are muddied further by these ridiculous catchweight fights.

I'm in that boat now. I used to see the good of them to bring mega-fights together. But Canelo using catchweights at his SOP has soured me on them completely.

I just threw that in there as a last option. The primary point I was making is that Kahn is not going down to 140 to meet Mikey. He's the "A side" while the latter is clearly the "B".

Having said that I am much more tolerant of catchweight fights when they are not chopping pounds off of title fights like Cotto and Canelo were doing at middleweight.

It goes beyond that because of Mikey's lawsuit against Top Rank that was settled last year. Garcia alluded to that recently when discussing the possibility of that fight happening.

I think Crawford is definitely looking at 147 fights next. The Kahn vs Mickey would be good because Kahn has a glass jaw it will be interesting to see if mickey's power translates to a bigger fighter

I don't think it would fully translate to welter at this time.

I agree. He definitely never hurt Bronner. I think he could hurt Kahn though. He has nothing for Crawford now.

Broner has a sound chin and was very committed to caution, so I give Garcia a pass on not stopping him. He's a loudmouth but Adrien is no scrub.

Lomachenko has been sounding off about how unimpressed he was with Mikey's victory over Broner.
