Isn't the fight the 29th? He should have a week to make it unless something has changed.

Oh, I see where Broner said he could make 140 tomorrow (he said that yesterday).

I screwed up and thought the fight was the 22nd. My bad.

This is apropos of nothing, but it never ceases to amaze me how fighters can lose/gain what I would consider to be massive amounts of weight in such short amounts of time. I mean, I've been caught out not eating or drinking for ~15-20 hours at a time before (usually due to poor planning or something else on my part) and gone on hikes or done pretty decently strenuous activities, and at most I'll lose like 3-4 pounds. But to cut like 10, 15, 18 pounds (and then regain them) like some of these guys do in <24 hours is crazy to me. I can't even fathom how it's possible.

As did I, which makes Rafael talking about it more than a week out odd.

With Mayweather/Conor, I have people calling me weeks in advance to see if I'm gonna get the fight. Not just my friends....my wifes friends....family...I've received at least 8 calls about this over the past few weeks. I'll probably end up buying then fight just because of this.
How was it for past Floyd fights?

Up until the farce of a Pac-Man fight we could usually get 5-10 guys for a Floyd fight after that **** show no one cared anymore. For this fight no interest.

The Ortiz fight party I had was so packed that my neighbors called the police.
My Cotto one was packed too. I didnt do one for Pacman but I'm sure it wouldve been packed.

he should have demanded a rematch after that cheap shot.....he was actually giving floyd problems before the KO. funny how floyd never wanted a rematch just to justify the controversial win.

Cheap shot? Are you talking about the leaping headbutt? How many times was Floyd suppose to hug and kiss him after that? As far as giving him problems, that round where he got him into the corner 2x was the first time Ortiz launched any established offense and he still was only landing about 1 out of every 5 shots during those barrages. Lets not overstate who and what Ortiz was going into and after that fight.

As for the rematch it didn't make any financial sense so floyd didn't do it. He gave both Midina (sp) and Castillo rematches when there was enough outcry about him losing in some peoples eyes.

forgot about that headbutt from ortiz.....but not really different than what horn got away with against manny. (and horn was never docked a point). i believe ortiz said the headbutt was in response to the elbows from floyd. anyways, yes, floyd probably would have won pretty easily, but if floyd ever lost in that manner, he would demand a no-contest.

Moral of the story: You're always going to have a lot of people at your crib for Floyd fights.

Floyd could have a fight against Air and your friends would still be like "Yo Aholbert, you having that party for the Floyd fight?" Lol

Nah because I don't have the whole story. No one wanted to come see the Berto fight or either of the Maidana fights. Same with the Guerrero fight.

So the real moral of the story is if Floyd is in a fight against a big named fighter, people will come.
