Broner just rubs me completely the wrong way. There isn't one thing about him that I like. He has tremendous natural talent for the sport, but he's more concerned with the life style. Oh well, he isn't elite, doesn't want to be elite and will never become an elite fighter in the sport and its clear that 147 pound greatness has passed him by. He can't beat Thurman, Garcia, Spence or Porter for my money at 147 and while I think he could beat Manny at his age and declining skills, that isn't saying much. I'm over him entirely.

Agree wholeheartedly except for one point: Is Broner that talented? Is it all hype? The guy has either lost or drawn in nearly every big step-up fight.

I think Broner and Gervonta Davis have a lot in common: A lot of sizzle, not much steak.

It's comical to hear Davis call out Lomachenko. Loma would kill him softly with angles and speed, winning with ease in a mid- to late-round stoppage.

I think he has some talent yes. He at the very least has a chin of sorts outside of the Midiana fight he's never really been hurt now maybe he hasn't fought a lot of punchers but he took some shots from Mikey Garcia. If we believe that Amir Khan has talent then Broner has to have at least that much + a chin.

Davis is a Baltimore kid so I am inclined to give him some time he's what 23? He is atleast working with Floyd, and for all that we can say about Floyd he has never been shy about putting in the work required to be great. If he can get Davis to buy into that, then maybe he has a chance to grow and develop.

I totally agree about Broner..I don't hate on any cat but he just can't control himself. That post fight interview was ignorant at best and it sheds a bad light on the sport in general. he does have talent no doubt, quick hands, great counter puncher when he wants to be, good chin, and some heart but he just doesn't have that next gear or level to put him in the upper echelon of his weight class..vargas was a B level fighter who lost to Pacquio and Bradley..Vargas had no power at all but he was busy and got tired. Broner can't stand in there with any one who has any pop in his punches and he becomes defensive and cautious. Even with that I still thought Vargas won by a point..Now if I am Vargas I take that draw and move on..if they meet again Broner will have no respect for his power and will go to work much earlier...Broner wouldn't be able to handle Spences speed and power and Garcia would hang in there long enough to hurt him and make him get into a shell..But the more people pay attention to his talking and pay him the more he will do it.. he is the most arrogant trash talker I have ever seen, especially when he hasn't backed it up..

Maybe Floyd can teach Davis how to duck foes until they're past their prime, too.

It's too early for me to negatively compare Gervonta with Broner, but remember what Adrien was doing to sub-140 competition before he moved up.

As for calling out Lomachenko, that's all posturing as he's saying that fight would have to be PPV. The sad truth is as good as Lomo is he couldn't make a PPV fight happen with Davis or Mikey Garcia.

also retire undefeated and beat guys with no boxing experience to add to your unblemished record....

I might be in the OS minority but I'd like to see that fight. It's a good match-up for Broner given Amir's spotty defense and chin and would give him his biggest payday yet. Khan is rebuffing a lucrative Brook bout because of the weight class (154) and he is talking up fighting Broner. This could be a negotiating tactic to accelerate the making of the UK mega-fight but I think Khan may have already been given a tasty offer to mix it up with "The Problem". We will see.

Broner struggles with dudes that have a good work rate and hasn't carried his power up to 147. Khan has a weak chin and Broner could catch him, but I think Khan works him over to a wide decision/late stoppage.

Of all things to complain about I think this one is the silliest with Floyd. Guy was 49-0. If someone told you that they have a way to make an easy 100m would you say no?

I wouldn't say silly. It did break Marciano's record regardless if it was totally triggered by monetary gain. But yeah it's down the list of things to complain about Floyd.

This is a GREAT matchup. Two guys who are overrated and whose results don't match the hype, both at the crossroads of their careers. Both guys also are world-class sh*t talkers.

No, but Floyd was more than happy to tell everyone how he surpassed Marciano and went 50-0 against a guy with no boxing experience outside of the amateurs.

Floyd is a savage businessman. He's not a savage warrior. He has balls the size of BBs compared to many of his rivals. His strategy for the back half of his career has been "Minimal risk, maximum reward."

I have zero respect for that.
