I love watching this kid. Immediately after the fight, Floyd says he's in no hurry to match Gervonta against Lomachenko, and there's no reason to.
Not at all. He's had what 18 fights, he is what 22? His frame is cut pretty solid not a lot of room to add weight, so I wonder if he has maxed his punching power potential or if he can add a little more thump. We've seen liver shots land no where near as clean and flush as his did absolutely paralyze people for 5+ minutes after a fight.

I love watching him work too, just want see if he can carry his hard hitting ways to 140 and eventually 147 (if that is in the cards for him).

Jim Rome was talking about the Connor-Floyd fight and said he's been told Connor could make over $50M on this fight.
It would take him 15+ fights to make that in the UFC.

This is such a great fight for both fighters, financially. Nothing has anything to lose.
Floyd has never been beaten by a professional boxer and McGregor has never boxed professionally.
At the same time, Floyd doesn't possess crazy power, and he's not going to gamble to get a KO.
He'll carry Connor for 12 rounds, neither guy will get hurt and both will make more money than even my wife could spend.

        It's really a no-brainer for either guy.
Unfortunately, it's a terrible boxing match for boxing fans. Only diehard Floyd and Connor fans will buy it. But they have enough that the PPV numbers will be crazy.

The real question is, will this fight be more competitive than Yellow-Chavez?
Actually, I'm not sure anything could be less competitive than that fight.

I think Connor will but up more effort that JCC Jr, but if he lands 50 punches the whole fight on Floyd he should get the decision win based on a sliding scale. This will be a glorified exhibition for Floyd to get to 50-0. More interested in the potential undercared. Joshua has said he wants to be on it, and Floyd will probably try to put Davis on it as well.

Even Joshua-Lemieux wouldn't have me spending money. If it happens are they going for a $99 price tag?

it will be a glorified sparring session, plain and simple. it should be billed as an EXHIBITION only and NOT count towards win number 50 for floyd. conor has not had any official boxing matches to date (or exhibition, for that matter) and just recently obtained a boxing license. he is facing an elite, undefeated former multi-division champion who is arguably the best of his generation. however, it's not like conor is facing a mike tyson-type fighter who could seriously hurt him. floyd will box circles around him and call it a night. if anything, portions of the proceeds should go to charity. also, there should be a clause in the contract where floyd receives LESS of the split if he does NOT knock conor out. THAT would make this fight more interesting.

"This was supposed to be an exhibition!"

                I agree.
                Especially the last part.
Nobody was lining up to make an easy payday against a prime Tyson.
But everyone wants to fight a glass-fisted Mayweather.

It's why you would never see Connor call out a Golovkin.

He knows he's going to lose, but he'll barely get hurt doing it.

What makes me laugh are the Connor superfans who think he has a shot.
Floyd had never lost a PROFESSIONAL boxing match.
And Connor has never fought a professional boxing match.
The dude gassed out after 5 min against Diaz and there weren't any grappling and they're using 3oz gloves.
What's he going to do over 36 min???

I'd only pay for this fight if they muted the sounds and piped in Bennie Hill music.

                  Re: Boxing Off-Topic

This is WWE stuff right now in the fact that it's all scripted. Connor will be the loud mouthed heel getting his fan base all up in a lather and putting doubt in the boxing communities head, "Maybe he does stand a punchers chance". Meanwhile Floyd will come out with a few witty quips and the equivalent of Ali's "The Champ is Here" to get his followers convinced that Floyd will lay out this chump for even claiming he should be in the same ring with him.

In the end, Floyd throws 30 punches a round, taps Connor 15 to 18 times around while Connor pretends to be befuddled but always on the edge of letting a flurry loose. Floyd wins 11 rounds to 1, but making it look close in Connor's fans eyes to set up a possible re-match if the idiots are willing to shuck out hundreds of millions again.

It's laughable. The only way I watch it is if Joshua vs. Wilder ended up on the undercard.

                    Well said.

A Golden Gloves champ could beat Connor.

money, your post made me LOL.....the rocky-thunderlips match will be more entertaining than this stinkfest. and notice how floyd is NOT predicting a knockout (even though he SHOULD be knocking conor, a guy with zero boxing experience, out). i'll find some way to see it for free. i miss that bennie hill show too. lol. the pre-fight hype (apollo-"how did i do?" rocky-"a little much for my taste...") and talk will have more action than the actual fight itself.
