    Re: Boxing Off-Topic

Looking at the official scorecard, the judge who had it 115-113 Estrada gave him the 11th round.
    Unbelievable.
This should have been a MD.
I'm not that upset with Estrada getting the win as it was close and Roman didn't do anything in the first 6 rounds.
But honestly, I have Chocolita 2-0-1 against Estrada.
A fourth fight has to happen.

I scored it a draw at 114-114. There were a couple of toss up rounds, so I wouldn't argue either fighter winning by a close decision. The judge who had it 116-112 is insane. A 4th fight is needed.

Of course. He fought Chisora as a favor to get him a payday. Doesn't take away the fact that Fury looks and probably is unbeatable right now. I tend to agree with Max Kellerman that there are very few, if any, heavyweights in history that would actually be favored against Fury based on his skill and size.

The financials are kind of astonishing and even more so if you look back a few years. Despite the fight being against an outclassed foe and semi-free (ESPN+) in the United States (and presumably Canada) Fury was guaranteed $25 million while Chisora did his Everlast impersonation for a very respectable $4.5 million. In 2014, well before Fury exploded into a phenomenon, he received $12 million for the his second meeting with Chisora; the loser claimed $1.5 million.

Although he has good power he's not a brutal puncher. His size and chin would present the biggest obstacles to some of the greats. Liston could give him trouble with that great, long log of a jab. Fury's reach advantage would be negligible.

Maybe I'm just in old school mode right now.

He does not seem in a hurry to fight Joyce. He's calling out Wilder and other fighters to fight JJ-I guess he's earned that right.

He did say in the ring after the fight that if Usyk doesn't happen then maybe Joyce can, but, of course, everyone wants the Usyk fight to happen.

lol “Everlast impersonation” classic my man!! I agree I wouldve taken the fight for that money!! good thing about fury he balances out quality opponents and easy fights so I cant fault him!!

Teofimo Lopez looked a bit sluggish last night even though he won. I really believe he needs a change in his corner. He and his father seem to bicker back and forth between rounds quite often. I think a change is very much needed and overdue.

Lopez also appears to have lost some physical advantages after moving up to 140 - which is expected when you're fighting closer to your natural weight.
You're now fighting guys who are still able to cut weight and enjoy a big post weigh-in weight gain.

I also agree that he needs to cut Daddy from his corner.

at this point, he should take on usyk for the undisputed title and call it a day. however, usyk is definitely not intimidated by fury and has been eyeing him for quite some time. who knows? he just might have the formula to beat him.

ESPN+: Beterviev vs Yarde at 2:30 PM EST (1:30 CST) In London. I have no idea if that’s the start of the main event or any part of the undercard.
EDIT: Beterviev-Yarde won’t start until about 6 PM EST.
EDIT 2: More like now-The fighters are doing their ring walk.

Tough fight for Beterviev who was vulnerable to a hometown decision (one judge had him down 2-5 after 7) but Yarde took to much inside punishment and eventually succumbed to an overhand right early in the eighth. The champ took enough damage himself that Tim Bradley declared Bivol the winner when the two meet up, likely this year.
Andre Ward was bored with the Jake Paul-Tommy Fury analysis but Bradley treated it like the Fight Of Century. I wish Tim would start his professional boxing career up again so he wouldn’t have to do broadcasting.

I couldn't find this fight anywhere in Canada.
This is a LHW championship fight, with a champ who fights out of Montreal, and the fight was impossible to find on any station or streaming service.
                                Great job boxing.
Meanwhile, I have a Bellator reminder on my calendar for next weekend which will be free on YouTube.
