I enjoyed it, but felt the boxing aspect of the movie was its weakness. Kinda bad place to be for a boxing movie. The in-ring action for the first two fights were good, but didn't like the final fight, and most everything boxing related that was out of the ring fell flat to me. Like Chavez really put all his belts on the line against a guy fresh out of prison who never fought professionally before? Wut?
A bit too predictable and rushed. Still enjoyed it, but I am a huge fan of boxing movies, so I am totally biased. I wish the training scenes could of been better and built up the emotions going into the final fight.

I believe I read rumors of a similar spin off coming for Drago too. Hopefully Sylvester Stallone can come back to the franchise, I think his input into the training and match scenes would be invaluable.

enjoyed it as well...the conlan rematch was almost an afterthought. should have been at least A LITTLE build up to it, with adonis avenging his only loss and all. the acting between jordan and majors was top notch. IV is a go but not sure where they go with it at this point. adonis appeared to retire after this fight and the only one that makes sense is drago vs. dame due to the sabotaged title shot for drago. which side will adonis be on is the question.

Tszyu pressure VS Harrison jab. Don't bring a knife to a gunfight. Tony looks worn.

          Charlo's hand better be healed.

          Should be a great fight.

Tim looks like the real deal to me. He does alot of little things right. He definitely has pop in both hands. Would have liked to see him go to the body more early on, but a solid performance overall. He'll give Charlo all he can handle. Should be interesting

First fight I might actually pay for this tear is Plant vs Benavides I respect any fighters willing to put it all in the line while they are in their prime!! saw the weigh in while I have Benavides winning Im starting to think he overtrained and lost too much muscle for this fight to prove he can look cut. He came in at 166 and looked guant to me. I hope he has a great rehydration plan Plant looked bigger to me!!Looking forward to boxing agan!!

I might have gone for it with a better undercard. The betting public doesn’t view this as a total mismatch and Benavides seems a little on edge. The number (166) hangs around but I think he misses “gaunt status” by a little as least by my eye test. I would pay $29.99 for it.

Wow, didn’t expect Benavidez by decision.

I hear ya my man but you missed a great fight and it brought me back to the 4 kings era … Benavides definently was not 100 percent far as stamina and work output and I think nerves hit him!!! but he slowed it down and gave Plant a methodical
deceptive beating sneaking in alot of short shots. I think Plant has mastered the art of survival in the ring he hugged and moved just enough to make it but make no
mistaje he feeling it today!!!! loved the atmosphere and the electricity of a big fight this family was locked in last night we had a great time!!

                      Re: Boxing Off-Topic

I watched all the fights and it was a fun night of boxing.

To me it was simply that Plant couldn't hurt Benevidez and he also looked very awkward trying to hold/tie up. If he was better at that, maybe he would have done a little bit better, he sort of did this exaggerated hug motion and also got some of his most beatings while trying to clinch.

He should look at tape from the masters and learn how to do it more naturally while at the same time keeping safe from danger.

Easier said than done because David just bullied him out of those clinches and roughed him up pretty bad.

I was very impressed with Plant's hand speed as well, but he would only let his hands go into David's guard for the most part and David's timing was getting better and better as the fight went on.

I don't think he can beat canelo though but I've love to see it!

I think Benevidez has a legit shot of beating Canelo.
Alvarez is starting to show his age with his stamina being suspect for a few fights now.
Like you said, Benevidez looked a little nervous. This was the biggest fight of his career and he seemed a tad overwhelmed by the circumstances.
But now that he has that out of the way, I don't think it'll be a factor if he fights Alvarez.

                        It's a pipe dream, but I really, really hope the next fights we see are;
                        Bivol-Beterbiev
                        Alvarez-Benevidez

Maybe the two winners face off.

I'm praying we don't see an Alvarez-Bivol rematch.
I have no interest in seeing another one sided loss by Canelo. I think Bivol wins even easier in a rematch.

Beterbiev destroys Benevidez. Canelo will never fight Beterbiev. The matchup that will eventually happen is Beterbiev-Bivol and I still think the former wins with a late round stoppage. Artur's probable next opponent (Callum Smith) will serve as a good measuring stick to this wrecking ball's trajectory.

Excellent post I agree. Benavides is highly underrated in terms of infighting and those short punishing shots on the inside that punished plant!! I think Benavides did excellent with guarding when Plant tried to get his speed off!! The look in Plant after round 5 said it all he knew I cant hild this dude off anymore without taking shots!!
