Beterbiev won on natural strength but he looked a bit vulnerable. I definitely like Bivol to win that matchup. Hope they fight soon. Beterbiev is already 38

Bivol’s good but I keep thinking about how Joe Smith hurt him late in their fight and how Canelo is no true light-heavyweight. And Yarde hits hard! Berterbiev absorbed some good shots in a very good fight but was never wobbled and still has 19 KOs in 19 bouts. I “medium” favor Artur but they won’t fight in 2023 anyway.

I'd have to give the edge to Bivol but only slightly. Artur's super short right hand cross was the one that REALLY ended the fight. Reminded me of Duran or Joe Louis - it was just a picture perfect short right hand. Everything after that was just making it official.

It's because of punches like that - the Bivol fight is super interesting because that timing and positioning is an equalizer to go along with his power. The only reason I give Bivol a slight edge is purely in comparisson to Yarde. Beterbiev takes some time to get going and would presumably be further behind on the cards than this past weekend AND I believe Bivol will be harder to hit clean and put away.

Love the fight - and I will add that IF AB wins I believe he will retire because his only goal is to become undisputed champ. 20-0 20ko's retire and that would probably get him into the HOF with the fest pro fights in history. IF he loses he may give it 1 more go depending on how the 1st fight plays out.

EDIT: I updated my view on a potential Beterviev-Bivol fight based on a Bivol bout against some opponent this spring, but there is no scheduled bout. Both Canelo and Bivol are not locked down to fight anyone so there could be a push to fight each other at 168. I'm not sure the odds are too good that Dmitry will fight both Canelo at super-middle AND Beterviev at light-heavy in 2023 unless the first bout is scheduled soon.

I get the impression that AB and Bivol want to fight one another.
But Bivol likely wants to make that easy Canelo rematch money before then. If that fight is at 175 (as it should be), Bivol would be insane not to take that easy payday.
But if the fight is at 168, I really hope Bivol would take the AB fight first.
I still think Bivol beats Canelo at 168, but it won't be as easy.

I must admit I was totally oblivious to the fact that Canelo WANTS the rematch at 175-In fact, he insist upon it. It’s promoter Eddie Hearn that wants it at 168. I’m used to Canelo using weight draining tactics. Does he want to avoid 168 to stay out of Benavidez country?

I'm puzzled by this as well. Canelo built his career off of his ability to drain weight and regain it without losing any strength.
You'd think he'd demand this fight would be at 168, or at the min a catchweight to hopefully drain Bivol and take some his steam away.

But maybe he really does want to chase greatness and beat the best LWH at the proper weight.
In any case, this rematch at 175 will be even easier for Bivol. Canelo hasn't looked the same for the past couple of years. He tires very quickly and his punch output hasn't been nearly the same since he jumped above 160.

Entertaining Jr. Welterweight bout Friday night on ESPN between Navarrete and Wilson. The inexperienced Wilson made it interesting with his power but ultimately Navarrete was able to wear him down and get the stoppage. I don't think Navarrete is as good at 140 as he was at lightweight, but he'll definitely make the division more interesting for the time being.

that 4th round was some crazy BS! take a point away for that blatant mouth piece spit - I hope Wilson disputes and something comes of it, even a rematch or whatever. It was like 30sec from Navarrete hitting the floor to continued action.

Wilson, as he got tired and ate body shots started backing straight up and no longer turning Navarrate which led to his demise. He should learn from that and go after it again. It was a thrilling fight while it lasted though. Navarrete is so awkward and sloppy looking but is somehow very effective.

Yeah that mouthpiece B.S was unacceptable. The ref let him take his good ol' time. Might be the main reason he was able to avoid being KO'd. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing a rematch, but I suspect Navarrete would prefer to go in a different direction.

Is Paul going to fight a relevant boxer any time soon? At least Tommy Fury is a "real" boxer, but his record coming into this fight was 8-0-0 against opponents with a combined 24-176-5...not exactly a boxer with a lot of pedigree.

Well Paul lost finally. Now we can move on [emoji23]. Ref got in the way a few times. Took points away from both of them. Tommy did get knocked down in the last round. But personal I thought it was the right decision. Super close fight.

What did you all think of Creed 3?

I enjoyed it, but felt the boxing aspect of the movie was its weakness. Kinda bad place to be for a boxing movie. The in-ring action for the first two fights were good, but didn't like the final fight, and most everything boxing related that was out of the ring fell flat to me. Like Chavez really put all his belts on the line against a guy fresh out of prison who never fought professionally before? Wut?

Great triple header of fights on Showtime. The co-feature of Hurd vs Resendiz was absolutely tremendous, definitely an early candidate for FOTY
