An absolute sham of a fight. And the global sporting public is stupid enough to buy it.Xbox Live: pk4425Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
that it is but don't forget what happened to ali when he fought inoki....his legs were hurt pretty badly and were never the same again after that debacle. if the global sporting public wants to know what to expect, watch that boring contest and then see if you want to pay $100 bucks.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Lomo isn't like any other eight fight pro, given his extensive amateur background (396-1) and the quality of non-pros that he's faced. He's already in the Pound For Pound discussion. That being said there is no need to rush him. He doesn't even need to go up to 135 for a while.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
After his explosive KO of Curtis Stevens David Lemieux put off his vacation when presented with the opportunity to fight on the Canelo-Chavez undercard. He'll face Marcos Reyes.
Lemieux is pitching for a fight with "Yellow" but I don't think that's a bout Canelo will rush into.Comment

Canelo is sturdy for a junior middleweight. He looks big at 154, built like a wrestler.Xbox Live: pk4425Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
You think so? As a middleweight Chavez had a good body attack and was a sturdy puncher but he didn't have Lemieux's raw power. After Junior's middleweight career it's really hard to gauge him or even create a sliding scale to account for his power at 164 and a half. He is reportedly training hard for a golden opportunity but how much can he improve from the Fonfara fight, where he looked uncoordinated and non-threatening.Comment

Chavez is a light heavy masquerading as a near-middleweight. He'll be drained as hell in his fight against Canelo. But Chavez's punches can crack, and his jaw is tungsten, like his old man. Too bad he's beyond lazy in his training habits and can't box.Xbox Live: pk4425Comment

Lemieux may have more power at 160 than Chavez only because he doesn't need to kill himself to get to middleweight.

I don't want to belabor the point, I'll just say that I consider Lemieux a special puncher (no small thing), but a mediocre boxing technician.
Agree with you on Chavez's chin-It will be very difficult for Yellow to stop him.Comment
