How do you deal with body punch spammers? I try to parry them since its SO obvious that they're coming but that doesn't seem to help me out much. Also you can only block so much. Any advise?

If I know my opponent is going to throw 4 to 8 body punches in a row, I just stop blocking all together and back out. Not blocking allows me to back up faster and get out of that range. Then when they finish punching air, I counter with a roundhouse kick to the body or some other long range weapon.

Of course, if they go high, I'm in trouble. Take this advice at your own risk.

Yeah, the only problem I see with this strategy is that sometimes as you're getting punched in the body it freezes you so backing up wouldn't really be an ideal option since you're already caught in the figurative "body punch web".

Similar question. Any good strikers have advice how to deal with someone who is really good with footwork, is using a superior striker (more speed and power, like super hero McGregor this game has created)... But here is the part I can't beat consistently:

They are intent on keeping distance and only engaging via the long distance side kick to the stomach (and I think there may be one to the head so it's hard to even use predictability against them)? Help here would be great

Long side steps with l1 modifier for that dumb kick, or people tend to throw it so much I anticipate it with weak block. You can normal eat a few, and will wear down opponents stamina. Maybe throw a takedown in with the side step. Most people that use that technique can't adapt.

Thanks. Hopefully I can figure out how to close distance off the side step to even get to the takedown

I still feel like the takedowns in this game are just not effective enough. It's a shame b/c it really limits the fighters I can compete with. I still don't understand how you can't take someone down mid-strike with consistency. What are some tips people have to execute takedowns better?

                                Dave, I found them!

I got both of them with Hendricks in Maia's full guard. I'm not sure what lower level fighters can or can't do them.

-SUB transition to Side Control gives momentum advantage to SUB hip out half guard transition or getup

Gas Johny out with transition denials, then watch L1 Down on Maia's HUD. It will change twice as Hendricks regains stamina. Normally it's a half guard sweep, totally gassed it's a sweep to full mount, and in the middle it's a sweep to side control.

-DOM transition to Side Control gives momentum advantage to SUB hip out half guard transition or getup

When Maia tries a sideways transition to Full Guard (the momentum one), then Side Control becomes available on Johny's HUD. If Maia's gassed, it's easy to get.

Are there any others you're having trouble with? I hope your still doing the momentum videos. I, for one, am looking forward to them.
