Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
How do I deny a take down and end up in double under hooks? The AI always does it to me. I know L2-back I can end up in side control and L2-down is submission but how do I get double under? ThanksLast edited by Brettf84; 08-27-2016, 06:00 PM.Comment

How do I deny the back suplex? To do the move it is L2 up... to deny is it R2 up?Comment

R2 and down. If they are going from double under hooks to your back then they have grapple advantage/ momentum advantage ( what ever it is ) into suplex so it's harder to blockComment

Re: Official EA UFC 2 "Teach me how/strategy" thread
Why do people spaz out and move all over the place in the thai clinch? I'm in div 6 and the div 7/8 players always move the thumbstick left and right when in the thai clinch. They seem to do it when they have the plum and even when they're in the plum. Does it give you some kind of grapple advantage or something? I don't get it... and it looks really stupid.Comment

No, they're just like moving backwards and forwards and pushing. It's weird as hell but a lot of them do it and I don't understand the benefit of it.
Also, I hope in UFC 3 fakes aren't a thing as they're stupid as well. Just turns everything into a guessing game. Eventually you get to the point where people do like 5 fakes before they transition. A lot do the faking to thai and then go for a takedown or vice versa too.Comment

Big fan of EA Sports combative games so I have a general feel for the UFC 2. Was seeing if anyone that has the game for Xbox One would be down to practice with me. I also like fighting as not so popular fighters to make it more fun. My Xbox name is Kuklinskii so add me if you'd like to to teach me some things and point out my flaws. Appreciate the time!Comment

lol. I guess it's a mystery. There's definitely a purpose because it would be annoying to go out of your way doing that stuff while trying to block and transition and everything. I'm wondering if it increases the time you have to block or something.Comment

So if I have you in MT and I think you are going to transition so I block but you don't transition i can't block your next move untill I strike you or move you.
Does that make sense?Comment

I think (not 100% sure) it resets the ability to block a transition like a strike does.

I wish these little things were easier to pick up on. I kinda hope UFC 3 has little things changed so everyone has to learn them again. It'd make for a fun experience. I'm a little worried it's gonna be basically the same game but with an updated roster and a couple new moves. I want the skills from UFC 2 to be transferable to some extent but hopefully it feels fresh. The current grappling system is good but certainly needs work. The faking thing needs to be dealt with. You get to the point where you have to use a ton of fakes to be competitive tho.Comment
