Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
It’s all about companies seeing how much they can charge for their product. Supply and demand. As long as there is a demand for the product they will supply it. As long as they’re making enough profit they will continue.

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
That’s all that I play. I would like to play ultimate team mode but I know that I will be in a severe disadvantage because I refuse to spend money on that mode. I can’t compete with people who spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on this game.

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
Like I said don’t get me wrong some people don’t have time to play all day and earned the packs and that’s where micro transactions would be beneficial because of time restrictions on playing the game it’s when you’re basically making these micro transactions a lottery... you’re not guaranteed to receive what you’re looking for it’s basically a slot machine!

Ideally it shouldn't take forever to earn items in the first place, and there would be no need for any microtransactions.

Also you can't max all stats, so everyone will have a weakness. EVen if you spend $50,000, you will still have that weakness somewhere.
Add to that the amount of skill required to really play this game well. You can't buy skill.Comment

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
this UT is more balanced then last year and its actually not as micro transactions as people think as you cant sit on perks. They might get advantage with the strikes they want early but the later the game gets the better as people will get their moves from playing.Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/im2good4u1

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
Question is how much money you will spend regardless of how long you can keep your perks... I wish EA would make a fleshed out vid on the mode ... regardless of making it fair or not people are not going to spend money if there isn’t an advantage so I would believe that spending money will give you an advantage.. And like I said there’s nothing wrong with that question is how much they will have you come back to draw from the well$$” if the cards expire?

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
I put so many hours in last years UT.
I'll play none of it this year. I've played none in the beta. It's cumbersome and the expiring items is a huge turn off. Not being able to create a character whenever I want, getting his stats randomly assigned to me just kills it. Hopefully career is improved enough to substitute cause they ended my enjoyment of Ultimate Team.Comment

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
It just seems like you really can’t personalize your player to your design in every aspect in detail this year it’s just random items that you equip, if I want to be a strictly muai Thai striker it seems like that option is taken from you, I like to invest in my CAF build him up the way I like to fight.

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
I agree ultimate team is beyond terrible. Its complete BS how the system works. My CAF has gotten absolutely 0 luck with moves. I cant throw a head kick for gods sake. Im getting beat by people who have more weapons than I do. And to make things worse it takes way to long to rock someone on the feet with the grappler class. Ive had matches where I land 200+ strikes landed and dont even get a knockdown.
I really enjoyed last years UT because you can easily whoop someone who had all these crazy moves. In this one Ive struggles. RNG has screwed me over countless times because I cant score a knockdown as a grapplerComment

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
I REALLY had hope for UT this year since I loved the mode last year outside of fighting against opponents with 100 in every stat. It was a good idea of tailoring a fighter exactly to your play style and seeing how you fared against others who are doing the same, but in typical EA fashion it just came down to who had the most powerful cards/stats because that it what sells microtransactions.
They could have eased the pain by taking character levels into account in matchmaking, so that equal level fighters faced each other, but that would destroy the annoyance and frustration people felt going up against overpowered opponents and prevent them from buying more packs in frustration, which is what the goal is. The more of an advantage the items in packs give you over your opponents, the more appealing the items are, and the more likely people are to purchase packs to get them, especially if they are going against opponents who clearly have an advantage based on items not skill.
There is a reason why you were shown what the most effective cards in the fight were and what card strike was used for the knockout. It's the exact mechanism that the patented Activision matchmaking system is based on. Using player frustration and envy to encourage microtransaction purchases.
It seems this the same again and EA continuing to push their "games as service" model, which is pretty much just jargon for getting people to continually buy microtransactions in order to keep playing the game, which is why cards expire. If they didn't expire you would be able to create a decent fighter by just playing the game and wouldn't need to open any more packs. It's how all EA sports games are and where all EA games are going. It's not enough to just buy the game anymore, they need to have a way for you to keep paying into the system as you continue to play the game. It's a subscription model without a subscription.
Unlike something like Madden or FIFA where the players you get are permanent, but better players are released throughout the year, meaning that you have to buy more packs as the year goes on to keep up, UFC UT gives you access to the good items from the beginning, but they are temporary, so you have to keep opening packs throughout the year to keep up anyway.
You would think they would learn from Battlefront but the UFC system was probably in development FAR before that all went down, and it's too late to get rid of now... and EA probably wouldn't anyway. They are still sticking to bringing back the Battlefront microtransactions after one of the biggest PR disasters in recent memory because the "games as service" microtransaction systems seems to be the backbone of the future direction of the company and is what they have built almost all of their recent gaming products around. UFC 3 doesn't seem to be any different.Last edited by killakrok; 11-30-2017, 10:11 PM.Comment

Re: Ultimate team micro transactions the death of the mode
Alll u need is a gold fighter for UT, which u get in pre order, u can only add like 20 moves that u can use for all classes. It isn’t locked anymore Seems like unless micro transactions are needed if u ask me
