not super ugly or bad but i would expect him to fall flat on his back

        like how he falls here

Yeah. At least, the beta's animation feels some weight when someone falls down on the canvas unlike ea ufc2s ragdoll.

Also an issue with this example(and it was also an issue in EA UFC 2) has to do with the inputs. When you see your opponent down and you press Triangle or Square to jump on them, this annoying example plays out:

"You press Square-> Your fighter jumps in with his left hand(the beginning the Ground & Pound strike animation) ->You keep tapping Square for more Ground & Pound Strikes and your hand akwardly changes to the right hand, when you intended to keep throwing strikes from the same side you originally jumped in from."

              This ONE !

If anything it should be like EA UFC 2. Completely ragdoll.

If I knock someone out with an uppercut, they should not (if at at all rarely) go down in slow motion like they just got shot in the gut in an action movie.

They should drop like a bag of rocks.

It did not feel any weight. It looked very light too much. Nobody fall down on the canvas super quickly like that. I have never seen it in real life. Ragdoll physics should have appropriate weight when someone falls down on the canvas. Here are some worst example from ea ufc2s ragdoll physics.... Do you want more examples? you can find these easily on youtube (search keyword "ea ufc 2 knockout"). 10~20%??? NO. I have seen these every time when i played ea ufc2.

Please don't bring back these super ugly ragdolls. there is NO one ugly than these gifs.
What are you even talking about?? That second gif is literally better than any of the pre rendered animations of ufc 3. I will say that I do really enjoy the knockdown animations and I don’t care that those are pre rendered but when you knockout someone they should rag doll.

I've seen that exact animation a bunch of times.
KO should never have the exact same animation =/

the first link is the bad ufc 3 kos. They seem scripted and stiff and seem like when they get hit the game is trying to render a ko like it doesn’t know which way to drop and it takes a second to load. The second is ufc 2 and showing off how amazing the rag doll looks. It looks realistic.

I think one of the biggest issues is their arms are just so stiff. It often looks really weird. It kind of reminds me of the Arkham games where when you knock out an enemy they just cup their hands to their head and it always looked really strange. The knockouts in this game remind me of that a little bit.

One thing that makes them ugly is the delay between getting hit and going down. When have you ever seen someone get hit with a KO strike Stand there for a second then fall.

@GPD - Can you explain what has been improved with the tuned knockdowns, specifically? Are the character models able to go more limp/ragdoll?

UFC 2's ragdolls were occasionally over the top, but mostly spectacular! They added so much replay value, even with the sub-par striking mechanics (which are awesome in UFC 3, btw)

I've attached a couple of stiff looking knockdowns. As people have mentioned before, they really hurt the replay value of the game, and become very repetative quickly.

Good example of 2 identical ko animations.
