Re: Ugly Knock Outs - Give me your worst examples
@tissues250, look the rag doll KO's aren't perfect, but they're much better than the canned animations. Let's be realistic here, we are in beta for a game that is dropping in less than 2 months. It's very doubtful they're going to create a new, weightier rag doll physics engine. With the assets that they have the choices are pretty clear. UFC 1 & 3 canned KO's or UFC 2 rag doll KO's. Most of us are asking for UFC 2's rag doll KO's with the realistic assertion that the resources aren't there to create a brand new system. If they were able to do it, awesome.

And we need follow-up attacks to the downed opponent. Walk off KOs are extremely rare, and that's virtually all we get now. In all the days I've played the beta, only a couple times have I or someone gotten the "finish the fight" ground strikes.Comment

But they can adjust what they have. Reduce the effect to head 25%, torso 50% and lower body 75% (to get rid of flips). Even with no change, ragdoll is better than these awkward animations we have now.

The striking in UFC 3 is awesome, and would so much more rewarding with some fun ragdoll knockouts!Comment

Re: Ugly Knock Outs - Give me your worst examples
I was scared for him. The whole thing was just eerie. The way Ngannou was bouncing around in that weird staccato rhythm, almost like he was possessed by some kind of voodoo spell. Then the giant punch that sends Overeem, a huge man himself, hurtling through the air like he weighs nothing. Lands hard with eyes rolling back into head, stiff as a board. I'm actually glad the camera crew didn't do a close up of his face. The fleeting images I saw were enough. Anything more graphic would have been seriously disturbing.
I was really worried that Overeem might have just been killed. Like, that KO actually made me question whether or not they should let that guy fight, he just might kill someone. Terrifying.Comment

I've been watching MMA since almost the very beginning, and man, I've never sat there and wondered "How can the announcers be celebrating right now!?".

He registered the worlds hardest punch too. He made a fan out of me that’s for sure.Comment

I really love this KO animation. Having appropriate weight when fall down on the canvas and looks realistic. feels so great than any EA UFC2's ragdoll physics.

Please DON'T bring back weightless ragdoll physics of ea ufc2. It's even more worse than now.

This looks terrible lol. The canned animations are not an improvement at all. He literally got to a set position while knocked out before falling over in the exact same position that I’ve seen multiple times already. Not sure how you can love it. But whatever.Comment

But yeah, if that's not a prime example for ragdoll to return, I don't know what is.. Deigo/Matt Brown maybe.
I know UFC 2 had some silly ones (couldn't you make fighters legs weigh a lot more than their upper half when entering ragdoll to kinda fix that a bit?) but UFC 3's momentum just dies when you get a KO. I've had some amazing back and forth waaars that end in anticlimactic one-hit KOs where the guy who gets KO'd usually resets position, then collapses in the same direction as the stroke landed.. it's utterly jarring compared to 2.Comment
