Re: Circling Out --- Sprint Option For UFC 4
You quoted me directly in your first post earlier and I ignored it. You then used an arrow to point at my next post and addressed me by name in that post.
Like I said, please stop. GC's are not obligated to answer questions from every forum member. I choose not to answer questions from you. As you can see, I'm having a direct converstation with bmlimo and its going fine. I would like to continue that convo. Please stop addressing me directly. I will never answer a gameplay or game related question from you again. No matter how many times you address me. So please stop wasting my and your time and derailing this thread. Thanks.
The arguments you presented for comp undermines actual skilled comp that can use all the tools, lowering the skill level... something that goes against being a real competitive gamer.
Circling can be handled in a variety of ways that address comp complaints of 'running' (such as stamina tax, balance tunings, etc), but when this information is presented he hides by deflecting it on to himself rather than the discrepancies pointed out in the arguments he presented for comp.Comment

Re: Circling Out --- Sprint Option For UFC 4
What cracks me up about this forum is this is how most convos happen with me:
Forum Member: I want the devs to add this (sim) feature.
Aholbert: Comp players or casuals may have an issue with this for (X) reason. I dont agree with that reason but this is what they will argue.
Forum Member: WHY ARE YOU AGAINST SIM FEATURES? EVERYONE WANTS THIS. WHY ARE YOU STOPPING THIS?
Aholbert: What The ****?
I guess the forum would be better off if I didnt respond. If so, thats fine. I mean, you guys would be completely in the dark and blame the devs wwhen something is added but I'm more than willing to do that if you want.Comment

But you arent. I'm never going to respond to your arguments. Never. About any subject related to the game. That makes you upset and I dont care about that. So its not providing feedback. Its you being a baby because I wont give you what you want and I never will.Comment

THANK YOU! I dont give a **** about online play. I only care if a gameplay feature affects offline in a negative way.

Offline is great to me right now. I’m also excited about what Skynet has in store for the future.

I addressed the arguments he presents for comp, but he deflects it back onto himself.
When some comp doesn't want to use all the tools, they are excused but when sim/casuals don't want to use all the tools- it is used to discredit the position. What's not being considered enough is that there are skilled comp that can use all the tools that are being undermined by the lowering of skill level by catering to unskilled comp.Comment

Ok so back to ignoring. Bmlimo, serious question.
Do you guys not want to know the counter arguments? They aren’t my arguments so I won’t argue for them. If not, I won’t ever present them. Keep in mind though, the people presenting them to the devs hardly post here so you guys like you will never know what’s being said.
With that said, if you and others prefer not knowing, I’m fine with that too.

Re: Circling Out --- Sprint Option For UFC 4
Lots of them.
This is what I dont understand. The devs have always been consistent with trying to find a middle ground.
So if most of the people on OS wanted circling and most if not all the comp fighters want a realistic feature like circling...why isnt their a middle ground in the game currently? Shoot, **** a middle ground....if pretty much everyone agrees that its a priority and its needed in the game, why isnt it in the game?
Its not like the devs have never discussed circling with the GCs. The devs have as a part of the movement changes they made last year. They couldve easily added circling to the mo cap sessions they did on movement.
Now 1212 has this theory that guys like Kenetic have so much pull behind the scenes that they are the reason this hasnt happened. He also believes that one man (Kenetic) is the reason why Diaz's 1-2 was so fast at release (a statement Kenetic strongly denies). Thinking that one man or even 3-4 guys would force the devs to keep the game a certain way is unrealistic.
In fact, many of the comp GCs were hesitant about adding movement tools to the game last year because of running. They stated many of the reasons I stated earlier. GPD didnt say "Well the comp guys hate it so I'm not adding to it." He recognized that people at OS and feedback from casuals stated that movement was an issue and he did his best to do make everyone happy.
So it comes down to two things: Either there are a few select people behind the scenes that hate circling and want to keep the meta the way it is or more realistic movement tools are not as universally wanted by comp players as 1212 is stating? What do you think is more likely?
He can "deny it" till the sun come home doesnt change what he said or the witnesses who heard it. He wanted broken head movement that everyone else vehemently fought against but the exploit was too great. Several threads hes fought against movement tools just search his posts. Its why we dont have circling out as well. Hes bashed this community several times on twitter. Calling us ******s etc
You can tell just how much circling was nerfed even from ufc 2. What the gcs say is essentially what is listened too. Thats terrible for the game as it undermines community opinion. Throwing back should not be the only answer to pressure. Pressure is the only true counter to pressure on the feet. People dont play this to play an arcade fighter.
They play it for realism. The only true reason to argue against circling out is so the meta can be continued to be swayed in the direction of a select few comp players whos opinions are truely the minority.
Comp players have stopped playing a year into release because not even stat changes let alone a tutorial or movement changes are being added. Why have the ability to tune the game server side if you won't do it? Huge waist of time.
If you want the franchise to grow realism is the only thing to do it. Its not fun being defensive in this game. I heard it said noone wants a high level poke fest. But the truth is feinting over and over again picking your shots and staying moving are what players want.
We spoke out against block breaking in fn4 and they fixed it. Who was the idiot who decided to bring it back? A man who doesnt stand for something will fall for anything.Last edited by 1212headkick; 05-05-2019, 10:24 PM.Comment

Can you show me threads where a lot of “high level comp players are asking for feinting over and over and picking your shots” on Reddit or Twitter or Discord? The reality is we don’t have that many high level players that regularly post here.
I would love to see this so I can present this information to the devs.

Re: Circling Out --- Sprint Option For UFC 4
Take the whole making every fighter viable argument for example. In every competitive fighting game Tiers exist. Every single character isnt on the same level. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses that you need to learn to utilize or exploit.
Or the obvious agenda of some dudes to push a particular meta. Fighting games dont make sure the meta is centered around rushdown. You have characters that operate from different ranges and it’s your job to master that range.
Trying to limit styles will only hurt the game in the long run because everyone fighting the same is boring to the majority. Look no further than the duck uppercut meta at release that a lot of comp guys loved but the majority of the fanbase hated.Last edited by Phillyboi207; 05-05-2019, 11:03 PM.Comment

Re: Circling Out --- Sprint Option For UFC 4
Just to be clear for yous one more time, lots of comp players don't want realsitic circling out or realsitic features. I posted several threads that showed this and I can give anecdotes from the discord.
Comp players do not want it, you can't present us with arguments for it as we have already said them previously and they weren't appreciated. What your need to do is convince the devs and the comp players. That simply isn't going to happen as comp players don't post on here often anymore, the game is rather dead and all of their arguments have already been posted.
Go back through the thread and you will see 4 or 5 links to threads on about this issue since the first week, go and reply to there posts and maybe you will get a response but I doubt it. This game is dead rn and the only time if will be alive is for the UFC 4 beta.Comment

Thank you for that. Those 50 upvotes are a good buff to the argument.
With that said, should the devs ignore the multiple comments that follow that say outside fighting doesn’t need a buff? Also how do we know that those upvotes are all or mostly comp fighters? Thanks.
