I know the button movements with the right stick. Against another person it is a entirely different story. I can maintain position, move and get a better position etc. But against the CPU (On experienced). They just do the moves to perfect and perfect timing.

I mean changing position is not that difficult. Straight down, left, right, or up for a minor transition. Slightly either down right, down left, up right, up left, for a major transition. Try do that as the CPU just button mashes you. They throw nonstop on the bottom so changing positions becomes almost impossible. Then how in the world do they manage to push off so easy.

I mean Rua is a beast on the ground and that is not chucks strong suit (once on back). I mean he has great take down defense, but once he s on his back, he should struggle to get Rua off. In the game this is not the case. He just pushes you off with his legs like you are a 7 year old.

My only complaint so far. Against a human is where i think this game will shine. I am not feeling the CPU. It is darn near impossible to submit chuck on anything higher than beginner.

I cant say I completely agree. I submitted Chuck in the 3rd with an armbar on experienced. I'm able to move from his guard to half guard to side control rather easy after round 1. Submissions are hard but not impossible in the demo. Now if in the real game, I'm fighting someone like Houston Alexander and I cant submit him in the first...I'll be the first one to agree with you.

Any additional strategy on submissions on experienced? I just end up going for a kneebar or kimura, it failing, and then ending up on my back. Sucks cause in later rounds it's tougher to defend Chuck's ground and pound. Realistic, just have to learn if there's more I should try and to to wear him down or something.

How about softening them with punches before the submission attempts? id imagine the chance to submit them increases with how hurt and fatigued they are.

Oh and Chuck is actually known for being one of the best EVER at getting back to his feet when he is taken out...even if you watched last nights fight an over the hill slow chuck was able to get right up when shogun took him down.

Oh, no doubt...that's why I expect to have trouble submitting him on experienced or above...just trying to learn It's me, not the game.

You can get jacked by kicks...I knocked Chuck down after a round and a half of kicks to the legs and body. I then got in his guard cause I was working on submissions, got flipped, and then GNP into oblivion, but it's cool to see a body shot hurt him that badly.

ok question since it must be me. How do you do rubber guard. i have only been able to do it once. Chuck ended up in my guard and Rua just started doing it. I was using same technique with right stick so i am not sure if there is a certain way.

I am about to test a game where I throw leg kicks to chucks ribs all fight only and see if it helps in submissions.

That's the stuff I want to learn too...I'd like to somehow see triangles, but not sure how to do that.

2 rounds nothing but rib kicks on chuck same spot. It was all red and pink he was hurt. Showed no signs of slowly down. 3rd round I kept throwing them. Finially one of the kicks sent chuck into "black and white mode". I shoot on him. Land in guard, land a big elbow, pass to half guard, land another big hammer fist, pass to full mont, started pounding him with left elbow, right elbow, big hammer fist, Boom i roll into a arm bar. tapping my little heart out, Chuck flips me over, lands in full mont. I cover up, 3 shots later KO. Chuck Wins.

I hope it is just the fighters we have because submissions should not be this hard.

I think I figured rubber guard out. Hold LB. I think kick of how it modifies the head kicks and speical moves. I think it is the same on the ground.

Yeah, submissions are way too hard. There's no reason a dude should have empty stamina and still be able to roll me out of the sub attempt.

Everytime i'm on the ground, I throw punches then attempt a move. If I'm in his guard I throw a few punches and then attempt a transition. He is so busy defending punches that he cant stop my transition. I dont try a submission until my opponents stamina is near half. Chuck has never been submitted and his submission defense is kind of high. Its rated at a 72 in the game which is pretty good.
