I tend to flick it left or right out of habit, but I think you can flick it in any direction.

Ok I guess there is no way.

Not that I've seen, but I haven't really looked.

Kind of a pain, but if it's really important, you can obviously check on the fighter select screen in exhibition.

That's what I usually do, too. Seems I'm not very effective at the timing of it, though.

This officially does not worth effectively. They are content risking a slow death and only counter into a better position when I make a move.

Another pair of losses by the same damn strategy.

              Then don't make a move.

Seriously, if they're content to risk a slow death, then give them a slow death.

Also, you can grapple block when a guy tries to pull guard.

                Hate sparring.

That was better than the last one I posted, and still exactly 66 points. Why am I getting EXACTLY the same amount of points regardless of what I do?

I quit. I'll just keep going this way and see how he ends up. No use trying for more if the game won't allow me.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, but its a hassle. No big deal. It would be nice to see your opponents tendencies to see whats his strengths and weaknesses off the bat.

The number to look at is the 'difference'. It's works like a tiered system. If your difference is between A and B, you get X base points (which are then modified by stamina and partner level). If your difference is between B and C, you get Y base points. If it's between C and D, you get Z points, and so on.

Getting the 50 base points is good. The only way to really get more is to finish your sparring partner, which can be very hard to do in 2 minutes.

Don't worry, you're going to end up with a very good fighter if you distribute your points even remotely well.

Right now I have 15 fights done and he's a 66 overall, if that's an indication of anything.

Also, for some reason, fights in exhibition seem much easier than the same difficulty in career mode.

When getting into a submission, does it matter if you mash buttons to lock it in, then either mash or rotate the stick to get him to tap?

Well think of it this way - how many fighters are there on the UFC roster rated 66? I don't have the numbers on hand, but I'd bet that it's 0.

So really your guy is the worst fighter there is, other than the generics they have. So really you're at a disadvantage until you've gotten yourself up high enough. So I don't think the computer fights differently, or is harder, but instead your character is really just at a disadvantage because his ratings just don't compare. I bet if you retired him and took him to exhibition, it would be just as hard as it is in career.

Which I kind of like. I'm 5 or 6 and 0 in career now on Expert, with a big win over Ed Herman. I really like the feeling I get going into a fight thinking - ****, this could really set me back. It's pretty exciting. I actually have to fight smart, and work to win. The win over Herman was kind of a tough battle, because he could have KO'd me at any time.

I'm actually considering "stunting" my fighter's stats - in which I'd basically hit a point where I'm just going to stop doing any training, or maybe train and save the points for later on in case I've got a glaring weakness. That way I've always got somewhat of a disadvantage - otherwise it just feels too easy. I'd expect once I hit 70 OV, I'd be unstoppable - because in exhibition mode, I've beaten the top rated fighter in every weight class with the absolute worse fighter in that class, and I've done it with absolutely no problems at all.

I'm talking about exhibition mode, using my fighter against the pros outside of career. They are a lot "dumber" than they are in career mode, even on the same settings. You can fight with your created fighter in exhibition without retiring him.

Can you? I was unaware of that - I've never actually bothered looking for them on the select screen, so I must have missed that.

Possible you're right - I know some of the sports games, people notice that one set of sliders that works for quick play doesn't work for season because the AI gets a boost. Possible they did that for this too just to make it more challenging.

Damn, ruined my win streak. I made a LHW named Big Nose and he is a 6'6 Black guy from China and he has the biggest nose ever. He was 7-0 and my last win was over Stephan Bonnar, I knocked him out first 10 seconds. I'm thinking, heck my guy is beast. I chose to fight Shogun Rua, and he just flat out took a dump on my face. Got me with all the knees and reversed my moves. I tapped.
