If you can't make it through 2 rounds with out near death from conditioning you need to go home and do some more work.

I rate that the worst fight to ever grace TUF.

    HORRIBLE
This happens every season, I don't get why people are too suprised by it. USA vs UK there were a number of fights with guys gassing out and they weighed a lot less.

Some of these guys, like the guy who lost could be pretty good with a lot more training. With that size and strength and reach, he could be molded over some time.

but for a lot of these guys is too much to expect them to perform at a high level when they have limited training.

I like the way the show is, because I don't think they need seasoned pro's to fill each team - what's the point in that? they get a shot in the UFC anyway. To me the show is about who's got the most desire and improves the most during the duration of the show. It shouldn't be about who's the best to begin with.

I see the point you are trying to make. But I go watch local guys around here that will most likely never make it as far as the UFC and none of them would gas that quick.

There is a difference from taking a guy who has been fighting the amateur circuit and wants the big time badly, compared to a guy who can't even make it through 1 round.

I mean damn I could make it through multiple rounds. Hell I have and I don't train like these guys.

Good thing Spike/UFC revealed Kimbo Slice would be fighting next week because Episode 2 saw a 29% ratings drop.

That means nothing. The show still did a 2.2 which is GREAT for cable especially Spike. It normally does in the 1's each season.

Well I wouldn't go as far to say it means nothing. If the ratings continued to drop off each week, it would impact how much Spike/UFC could charge for commericials/ads in the future.

I do agree the 2.2 rating is still great for Spike. It's obvious Kimbo Slice has made a huge impact. If he wasn't in the cast, none of the episodes would even be able to draw 2.5 million.

Agreed, I actually thought Wes won or it should have went to the 3rd round. How the other guy (can't remember his name) won baffled me because even though he pressed the action, Wes (IMO) got in better situations to win. In the first round, Wes knocked him down and laid on top of him for awhile. It even looked like he was trying to make a submission attempt at one point. The second round was about the same. Wes actually had him mounted at one point and had his back too. He just couldn't finish.

I think that the judges favored the other guy because Wes wasn't pressing at all and was so out of shape. But, I guess that's why they say to finish the fights and not let it go to the cards.

                Re: The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights

The ratings drop really essentially means nothing. No one expected the show to retain all the viewers it got on the season premiere which had a live Fight Night card as a lead-in. The past couple season there's been about a 25% decline after the premiere.

So yeah. it doesn't matter that the ratings dropped. That was going to happen. What matters is where they level off. And if the ratings stay anywhere around a 2.0, that would be incredible, considering the episodes in the last six seasons have averaged a 1.14.

What? Did Wes land a single strike in the second round? James was landing jabs and leg kicks whenever he wanted, and landed easily the most damaging strikes of the fight late in the second when he connected with a big straight right and a knee.

I had it one round apiece, but I could see how two judges could give the first to James, considering the leg kicks he was landing in the second half of the round were pretty serious.

I can't see anyone giving that second round to Wes, though. The most damage Wes did that round was to the octagon when he leaned all his weight against it trying to catch his breath.

Put that in a spoiler tag, please. Even though it's obviously not conclusive, I'm betting there's some people that would like the option not to know anything at all.

It's borderline. I saw that preview before, but because of how quick the cuts were, I didn't notice that until I saw a screenshot of it on the internet.

At this point I think the person who actually shows a little bit of talent, and enough cardio to actually make it past round 1 without being exhausted has a good shot.

So far 4 of the 16 fighters have been pretty pathetic. Let's hope we see someone in the next 12 who deserves to be there and that these guys were the lowest of the low; because even Rashad's #1 pick looked like crap.

Was expecting a lot out of Rashad's guy and his no. 1 pick. He sure did gas out quick. There I was standing in front of my television screaming my lungs out for either guy to get on the other half way through the 2nd. Thing is though once you gas out you are pretty much useless in the cage.

How does that happen to a guy that has been in Rashad's camp for a year? Where is his cardio?
