I like that Mir lost and I like Hardy even more but I wasn't impressed with another wrestling match from GSP and Fitch. I didn't see the big improvement that they both were talking about but oh well by now I should know what to expect.

I'm not impressed by Hardy. I will never praise a fighter who is dumb enough to let one of his limbs get broken.

It's obvious GSP didn't want to break his arm. Any other fighter would have yanked his arm right off.

      Both times.

Hopefully, let him move up to 185 and fight someone like Sonnen. If he wins that give him a shot at Anderson.

        OR...

If Rua defeats Machida, Anderson Silva should move up and fight the winner of Rua vs. Rashad/Rampage.

IMO, both guys (GSP and Silva) have cleaned out their divisions so, it's time for them to either challenge themselves and move up or fight each other. So, in the words of Steve Mazzagatti- "Let's get it on, come on".

I thought it was a pretty good card tonight. A lot better than the past few have been although the one on Versus wasnt too bad. But i thought tonight was pretty damn good. GSP needs to fight Silva after he wins, Carwin vs Brock will be a bullfight and be great, the Jersey fighters did well.

Even this fight now, Wallace landed shots in the 1st round, Hammond has been the better fighter but Wallace once again trying to land (p.s. i know what the result is but this is the 1st ive seen the fight).

yea but Hardy wouldn't quit, apparently didnt break anything and because he didnt quit he at least allowed himself a chance to win the fight. Although they didnt stand too much which is the only spot Hardy had a chance, by taping he at least gave himself that chance. And not taping when his arm looked toast, ive got to give him props for that. I woulda tapped. Hell i was tapping just watching it.

GSP doesnt need to fight anyone else, just have him fight Silva. Penn fought GSP at a different weight without having to beat others at that weight. GSP can easily be in that class if he wanted and Silva doesnt have much competition, especially if he wins. Its not often in boxing or MMA you have a chance to have some of the best pound for pound fighters actually fight each other. Thats why fights like Pacquiao-Mayweather and GSP-Silva have to happen. When you have that oppurtunity you have to make it happen. Thing is the UFC has the better chance because they dont deal with promoters since its an organization unlike boxing.

That was a pretty solid card. Carwin vs. Lesnar is gonna be great.

GSP is an animal. He is gonna move up to 185 sooner than later.

Hardy he is tough as nails. I didnt like him before the fight but my opinion has changed. Most other people would have tapped. He has the heart of a lion.

Screw that Pallhara guy. He left it on even 2 seconds after the ref was trying to pull them apart. I sure hope something happend to him before where he didn't win because he let go early otherwise that was just awful.

I was a bit suprised Miller won. I thought Bocek had it.

Just what is to be done with this Jon Fitch? He keeps winning but goodness forbid he become champ.

                Carwin/Brock should be intresting.

                Hopefully GSP/Silva gets done.

He didn't get his arm broken because he was fighting GSP and not Rousamir Palhares.

But hey it's his body and his career. He can play chicken with his limbs all he wants.

I'm of the belief that GSP has no business fighting Silva. GSP is like 4 inch's shorter and walks around way lighter. The only reason the UFC would do it is money, which it would obviously bring in.

I think someone could make the case that Hardy escaped the armbar, but there is absolutely no case to be made for Hardy escaping the kimura. GSP let that go because he didn't want to destroy Hardy's shoulder.

GSP has now won 25 straight rounds in the UFC. 25! Anderson Silva's longest streak is 9 or 10.

I ended up making $40 tonight in a fun little pool. Everyone picked winners, method (TKO, sub, dec), and round. Each correct pick was worth a point, with a max of 3 points if you picked a fight exactly right. What sealed it for me was picking Carwin by first-round TKO. Everyone else had Mir winning. That made seeing Mir get pounded out especially sweet.

Just got back from the fight. What a great experience it was to finally go to one of these. I was in the upper deck, but I still had a great view of the cage, although I would look to the monitors when they went against the cage or to the ground.

The crowd was really loud, but I found it funny everyone was cheering GSP's takedowns for the first 4 rounds when they were booing Fitch for doing the same thing. They started booing when GSP took Hardy down in the 5th though.

I don't know who you send out there against GSP next though. I guess Fitch would be next in line, unless he goes to fight Alves again, but we all saw what happened the first time those 2 faced.

I can't wait to see Carwin/Lesnar as I really didn't want to see Mir get his face beat in again. While I still expect Lesnar to win, I like Carwin's chances much better than Mir's.

I was also surprised that Miller won his fight, as everyone I was sitting near was expecting it to go to Bocek. The Hamman/Wallace fight was pretty entertaining also especially with Hamman throwing out some judo throws. I know people will hate on Palhares for holding on too long, but I'm still a fan of his. He's a master of the heel hook.

The difference between GSP and Fitch is that GSP improves his position and works for subs while Fitch gets the takedown and sits in full- or half-guard and throws punches to the body. GSP continually got into side control and mount and looked for RNCs, armbars, and kimuras. Fitch...didn't.

As for who's next for GSP, I'd guess the winner of Kos/Daley. Fitch may "deserve" it more, but his destruction at the hands of GSP wasn't that long ago, and rightly or wrongly Fitch isn't exactly a fan favorite. I'm guessing they'll set up Fitch and Alves again to figure out which of those guys eventually gets a shot at GSP again.

So yeah, I'd guess the winner of Kos/Daley will get the next shot. Paulo Thiago is also looming. And maybe the UFC will get Shields. I think all of those guys are more interesting fights than Hardy.
