Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the fighters fight each other differently depending on who they're fighting. I was Shogun vs Rampage and Rampage was not as aggressive when I fought him and I knocked him out. Then I selected Evans against Rampage and Rampage was very agressive and knocked me out. That's cool if you ask me.

Ok, if you are having problems fighting Machida on expert, don't give him room. Rampage and Shogun can dominate him by just getting within clinch range and from there he can't sway to avoid elbows and punches. You can even grapple him then slam him to the ground and just destroy him on the ground. I was like 1-8 against him until today, now I'm 4-0 against him.Comment

Re: UFC 2010 Undisputed Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
The game is definitely more balanced against a human opponent. I just had four great fights against my mate, the best of which was a title bout between Evans (me) and Machida that went into the fifth round. It was a great tactical battle utilising every aspect of MMA which ended with him beating me via submission after about 3 mins of the fifth.
I think the AI can be tweaked, and yes, the effectiveness of normal punches needs to be improved, but the key thing, which a few people have stated, is that the game is great when you fight realistically. The only issue I have is Lyoto's takedowns being far too effective for someone with a rating of 74 who rarely goes to the ground game.Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

There should be. Could probably fix a lot of the complaints.
You can fight realistically yourself but you can't make the AI do it.Comment

Re: UFC 2010 Undisputed Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
***I think Expert is the perfect level for this***Ok guys hear me out. Give this a shot. I went into the demo this morning in a different frame of mind. I kept reading about KO's being to high, striking issues, submission issues, etc. So what I did was think about watching MMA as I was starting the game. In real life we don't see guys getting cleanly struck 50 to 60 times in a match. They might eat blows with their hands up, but you are not seeing bomb after bomb land. So what I did was go into my first UFC 2010 match with that mind set. "FIGHT REAL". I focused on not seeing big BOOMS land. Kept my hands up, used my advantage and keep my disadvantages away.
It surprisingly fights pretty darn realistic if you take 09 out your head. We are used to seeing punches just land in killer combos from 09. Punch after punch to the face. If you play 10 like a "sim" and watch those big shots from landing. I think you might see that the damage to time ratio is pretty good with "acting how a real fighter would".
I still agree with allbthere that the combo strikes are worse to this year. But I think it also brings more of a sim aspect to it though. Even though it is wrong. You rarely see 3-5 combos. You see the 1-3 range more often in real MMA. dropping your hands for longer normally results in sloppy and KO. So I think this approach lends itself better to the sim aspect.
Only issue I am seeing is the fighters put in the demo. All are pretty good and have no true weak area. So it is not like Maia fighting Silva in 09. Where if Maia got Anderson on the ground in 09, it was almost a for sure submit. Instead we have such a balanced group of fighters that things like submission "toughness" comes into play but might be much easier vs someone else. We don't know yet.
The new transition block is excellent and I don't see what is to hate about it darlon? It allows a much more realistic ground game with true ground work. Ground and pound is truly possible now. Not, punch......pause.........punch..........pause...of 09. I think there is a issue with the 80% chance 3 tries either way transitions. But that just comes off as simple tuning issue to me that would get worked out either by release day or a patch. Ground game was good in 09. I don't see them messing it up with the hardcore community UFC has.
Overall I am EXTREMELY happy with 10 and thinks it is a excellent jump from 09. Only sour mark in my mouth is allbtheres issue to of the punch system needs "loosening".
But yea I agree about fighting realistic(as I reference my FNR4 sliders before)
I have yet to see a KO from GnP, its been all TKO's from the mount...
Oh, The clock was also accelerated in 09 too..
I wont really put off the game untill I play the full version but I have been fighting realistically and end the fight by way of KO, mainly do to a counter..
But like I said before, its not really the KO rate, more like the animation or the sequence..I would like to knock my guy down then attempt to finish him off before the ref stops it, even if I dont get a chance to throw a strike...Last edited by Jukeman; 05-02-2010, 03:56 PM.Comment

It's true that to enjoy the game you need to use your own house rules.
I almost don't want to share this info, but you don't have to do it (it will screw your enjoyment if you do)
you can wait for the opponent to enter the pocket and like clockwork he will throw a left or right bomb. Knowing this you dash back and immediately throw a headkick as soon as you hit him, dash back as he'll be throwing another bomb and headkick again...you can do this 10 times in a row unless you mess up.
it's a bit hard to fight realistically too when the cpu throws like 2 jabs a fight. If they speed up the jabs and straights and allow you to throw them in succession again I'd be very happy. It's amazing that they changed it on purpose, but really goes to show how funhouse mirror things can get when you mess with essential fundaments of a sport.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

I love that once you dead leg a guy with leg kicks, takedowns go straight to half guard. I killed rampages legs with shogun. then took him down. and it went to the same strugle but rampage couldnt win it to sprawl and i wind up in half guard.Comment

Re: UFC 2010 Undisputed Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
Even the most dominant wrestler (rashad in this instance) double leg initiates a sprawl if you shoot on someone in space.
As I said earlier it doesn't bother me as much in terms of gameplay, but more at a conceptual level. Why is a judo trip so much more effective than a wrestling shot?Comment

I like how not everyone wants to touch gloves at the beginning of every round like last year if you touched gloves in the first they'd want to in the second but Shogun doesn't do that in the demo. You touch in the first and he's going to try and punch you out in the second. Machida on the other hand will come out and touch gloves again.Comment

I like the walk out they do at the beginning of the round, too.
Whenever I fight against Evans, I let him try to touch gloves, and I go for the kill.Comment

I am really enjoying the demo. I can't wait for the career mode, fight camps, online league play. It will be a extremely fun experience.

I remember seeing a video where it showed a glimpse at the beginning of a fight where you can respect your opponent by touching gloves or disrespect them by not touching gloves."Do or do not, there is no try."
