So I guess he tested slightly lower than Chael did...

But Chael was on the replacement therapy...

Sad sad sad. I'm trying to figure out how he could be so reckless? I don't care how random testing is, he had to know the UFC and U.S. commissions test hard...

If he's smart he fesses up, takes the 1 yr ban and asks Dana and Lorenzo for forgiveness. I think it would be idiotic if they cut him. He's still a known fighter and its not like they have to pay him while he's on suspension. Let him serve the year and then bring him back.

I found it ironic that Chael took a shot at Overeem on Twitter yesterday.

Keep in mind he's only fought in the US 3 times in the last 5 yrs and two of those times were with notoriously lax drug testing (Missouri and Texas). Against Brock, he mysteriously missed the first test and almost wasnt licensed because of it.

Arguably, this is WORSE that he failed before the fight. This is why Uncle Dana is so upset; it removes the marquee attraction. He Marquardt'd the UFC.

At least if he Sonnen'd, Leben'd, or (I guess) Diaz'd the card, the fight still went on and people will magically forget about it.

14:1 is lower than Sonnen's 17:1, and keep in mind that Chael was at 17:1 the night of the fight. Like I suspect, the 'Reem will ask for his B sample to be tested or something and then concoct an excuse. No way the UFC cuts Alistair Overeem. Dana and Lorenzo like him.

He really didn't screw them as bad as Marquardt. He got removed the week of the fight, this fight still has 2 months to go and there is other top heavyweights on the card so they can bump one up.

Overeem will appear at the April 24 NSAC meeting. Surprisingly Nick Diaz is not scheduled for that one.

That is surprising that Nick won't be there, but that does make sense if he is retired.

Is Overeem that big of a draw to the UFC? The HW division is as good as it's been in a while. Yea he helps, but I don't think it really hurts them that much if he's gone.

He's not and thats why I'm shocked to hear people say this is going to be a huge blow to the ppv butyrate. Overeem has main evented a PPV card once in his career and that was with Lesnar. There is no proof Overeem is a PPV draw.

Put Mir as the replacement and you've got tons of stories. Can Mir get over the hump? Will JDS's BJJ finally be tested? Maybe b/c it doesn't surprise me, but I kinda don't care.

The Overeem PPV also was the lower Lesnar PPV draw iirc.
Mir is a bigger name, and he does deserve it.

I'd bet that's mainly from the fact that the PPV was on Friday night. I had multiple friends who had no idea that it was on a Friday until the day before. That and Lesnar was no longer the champion.

Dana tweeted that Mir vs Cain will happen.

He also said that Dos Santos is defending his belt at UFC 146 too.

This must mean that the people have done it and got Mark Hunt into a title shot, or they've slid Werdum into the title fight. Or.. maybe a wild card? Dan Henderson vs JDS would literally make me go crazy.

Hendo/JDS would be awesome. If Dana says that Cain/Mir is still going on then I don't know where else they could go.

As hilarious as it would be they seriously wouldn't give Mark Hunt a title shot. If they aren't going to bump up Mir to a title shot, I doubt they would bump Werdum up then. Assuming Hendo is up for it, it actually makes the most sense.
