The main event seems like it's close to being in jeopardy. The way I see it, I think Dana should just move on from Nick Diaz and maybe even cut him. I mean really, if Diaz were somehow able to defeat GSP, is Dana really going to depend on Diaz to fulfill his obligations as champ? I'm only assuming as champ you get more responsibilities for promotion and what not. Diaz isn't going to do all that **** lol

Good news though because he only has two obligations left (public workouts and press conference on fight week). If he doesnt show for those, he deserves to get cut from the fight.

If Diaz wins, Dana should demand that Diaz restructures his contract so that he has to pay for situations like missing the Countdown tapings. I bet he would show up if he knew the 50k was coming out of his 200k guarantee for missing tapings.

From everything I'm reading, The Diaz/GSP phone conference is kind of awesome.

Damn, Diaz making himself out to be the hero and the anti-boring fight hero. Haha. Diaz trying to question MMA now it's interesting. He said he likes GSP and respects him. He's all over the place man.

I love chaos so part of me wants to see Diaz win and Dana go crazy trying to keep this guy under control. He's insane and I dont think we've ever had a clinically insane UFC champion.

You missed part of the greatest conference call ever.

Diaz: I'm at a stop light and some 40-year-old soccer mom leans out and yells, I hope GSP beats your ***!

GSP: "I speak English better than you." To that, Diaz says, "You're out of line bro. F'ing out of line."

Diaz thinks he's a prophet now. Lol

Dana aint gonna be able to control Diaz as champ. His only hope is that being champ medicates Diaz and that being champ is enough to sort of calm Diaz down.

I think he will just have to lower his expectations when it comes to Diaz. You cant expect him to do pre-fight shows and multiple press conferences if he gets the belt. Treat him like they did in SF and have him show up fight week.

I just don't know if Dana will allow his ego to do that, and perhaps rightfully so. You don't want fighters controlling too much of what you do and what your brand does.

Regardless, I'm glad Diaz called out the boring style type fights. I understand it's that "you win by any means" but Diaz has a point in where you fight for the fans as well. Fans don't want to see a dry hump fest for 25 minutes.

I doubt GSP cares though and will take him down with ease anyway. Hopefully Diaz can try for subs...

What can Dana do? Diaz is very popular and will be more so if he beats GSP. You cant strip him of a belt for missing press conferences. The backlash would be horrible for the UFC.

I think GSP gets a bad rap though. I usually watch UFC fights when I work out so I've watched a ton of GSP fights recently. In the Hardy fight, he was constantly looking for a finish but Hardy wouldnt tap. Against Koscheck, he kept it standing, broke his eye socket and the fight shouldve been stopped. Against Shields, he hurt his eye and played it safe. The Condit fight was a great fight with both guys trying to finish.

Only 1 of his last 4 fights could you argue that he just laid and prayed.

Diaz said he is also interested in the LW & MW belts. LW, it would be the exact copy of Benson/Nate, MW, Anderson would utterly annihilate Diaz. That would be such a ridiculous mismatch.

Oh no doubt the backlash would be horrible if Dana pulled that. I'm just saying you can only cater to a fighter so much. So if Dana's ego got in the way I wouldn't hold that against him. Not to mention Diaz owes Dana big time for being in this fight in the first place. God knows Hendricks has a more than decent case to be in...

As far as GSP's style, I think Diaz was talking about boring fights in general. When he was talking about MMA's problems and judging, I don't think he was specifically just talking about GSP. It's the general boring fights and wrestling.

In the Kos fight, I think GSP used his jab excessively. But I'm not taking anything away from him, I think he could have finished that really. Other than that GSP stays active for the most part.
