Now I understand you dont want him to just win the belt out of nowhere while guys have worked there non-stop. And, again, I dont think hes winning it. But you are making it seem like there is no value in him winning or that it would be the worst thing to ever happen to the company. Thats just not the case.

The guy didnt come back to WWE for the money, or even fame, or for any guy in the lockerroom. How I see it, he did it for his fans. And there is nothing I can bash about that. He doesnt owe the WWE anything at this point in his life and vice versa; so if they want to throw him in the title hunt, scaring the **** out of Punk marks like yourself, thats on the E. They are booking this. Not Rock. So however it ends you can send your vitrol toward them. Not toward the People's Champ!
And do you have proof of this? How do you know Rock didn't say "I'll come back on one condition; put that cubic zirconia clad joke of a title around The Rock's waist."?

Because The Rock is nothing. The Rock has not contributed to anything in ring for more than 1 day. The Rock doesn't wrestle, therefore anyone that wrestles or entertains even decently and consistantly is better than The Rock. The Rock is better than exactly Great Khali and Randy Orton. That's who The Rock is above. I can understand wanting to bring ratings so I'm not going to stop watching because he has the match though he doesn't deserve it but winning the title is entirely unacceptable.
That this post even exists shows that you on some level have an opinion about The Rock. And that's the difference. Far more people have an opinion about The Rock, far more people care about The Rock than any of the guys you name. The Rock is the most recognized, most cared about - and by this line of thinking, the best - entertainer in an entertainment business, he's a better in-ring performer than you are giving him credit for (people wouldn't care about a guy who could only talk a big game if he couldn't put on a convincing performance in the ring), and he puts butts in the seats. At the end of the day, that's what matters to WWE, making money, and even on a Santa Claus schedule The Rock does that for WWE in spades, arguably better than anyone else they have.

Though to put a simple end to this...please walk into a former place of employment of yours from 10 years ago and see if you get the top job.
Again, The Rock is an entertainer bigger than his previous entertainment profession. This metaphor doesn't apply. The only reason The Rock can show up and be the top guy is because people still care about him, people still want to see him, and he's still athletically and mentally capable of being the performer people remember from wrestling's modern heyday in the late '90s and early '00s. As long as lots of people still want to see him, he'll be at the top of the card whenever he decides to show up. Should they put the belt on a part-time guy? Maybe, maybe not. But the fact that WWE is even considering putting the belt on a part-time performer is proof positive that that guy is good, that guy is immensely popular, that that guy is someone people will pay to see. Proof positive of this is the buyrate of last year's Wrestlemania, which by all accounts was greater than any other Wrestlemania ever. The Rock was at the top of that card, The Rock was the one that put people in the seats.

Good question. It would make the WHT more valuable if the WWE title was part time.

Even if the Rock demanded it, he wouldnt be booking it. The E could always decline if they so chose. But nothing about the Rock points to him demanding the belt in the way you describe. This isnt Hogan or HHH. But I guess its possible; he could have demanded the belt but do you think he did?

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

              Raw's 20th Anniversary shiz + etc:

              - A backstage visitor at Thursday's WWE NXT TV tapings described the tapings as "all hands on deck." The NXT product has become a priority, thanks to Triple H. There's a feeling that the future of WWE will be very bright if they keep it up.

              - PWInsider.com is reporting that current WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres will be leaving the company. It appears that her departure is imminent and she will be dropping the title tonight on RAW.

              - WWEDVDNews.com received promotional material for the DVD/Blu-ray for Royal Rumble 2013 that may confirm that earlier report. The information on the package clearly informs us that The Rock will face John Cena for the WWE title at WrestleMania 29. Posted below is part of the promotional material.

              - WWE officials actually discussed going against Brock Lesnar's planned dates and have him work the January 7th RAW but obviously decided against it. Lesnar isn't expected back until February.

              - A source confirms that we will indeed be seeing more than just a few familiar WWE faces in this year's 30-man Royal Rumble main event. It was recently rumored that WWE was planning to bring back some midcard talents and some of those same names were on a list for surprise Rumble entrants.

              - Tommy Dreamer's name was brought up in a recent WWE creative meeting about a surprise entrant in this year's 30-man Royal Rumble match.

              - WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels is considered a lock for tonight's RAW 20th anniversary show. WWE officials really wanted him there because he was the Intercontinental Champion on the very first episode. Michaels is also from Texas so he will get the big local pop.

              - Another star from Texas who is expected tonight is The Undertaker. It is confirmed that he will be wrestling at WrestleMania 29 and his most likely opponent is CM Punk. We may see the beginning of that feud tonight on RAW.

              - As noted before, Bret Hart was contacted about tonight's RAW anniversary show but told officials he only wanted to come back if they really had something for him to do. A source confirms that Bret was very upset that they brought him into the RAW 1000 show for what ended up being just a small ringside appearance.

              - WWE Champion CM Punk wasn't cleared to wrestle on the January 7th RAW until just a few days before the show. Had he not been cleared yet, there was an angle in place for January 7th where Punk would have been checked out by WWE doctors and then the TLC match against Ryback would have been made for January 14th.

              - There is talk within WWE that Randy Orton may need some time off this year for some kind of personal issue. No word yet on the issue but we do know it's nothing to do with an injury or Wellness. Apparently it's some kind of family issue he will need to put time and attention into.

              - Chris Jericho tweeted the following about tonight's WWE RAW anniversary show:

"Congrats to @WWE #Raw for 20 amazing years! So honored to have been a part of 11 of them! Can’t wait to see who’s gonna show up tonight…"

              - F4Wonline.com reports that Santino Marella suffered a neck injury at Friday night's WWE live event in Austin, Texas. He was taken off the road to be evaluated but there is no word yet on the severity of the injury. Santino was replaced by Jamie Noble in a match against Tensai on Saturday night.

              - Tonight's WWE RAW will be the 20th Anniversary show and will take place from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Confirmed for tonight's show is The Rock's Rock Concert segment, Kaitlyn vs. Eve Torres for the WWE Divas Title and the return of Dr. Shelby to evaluate Kane and Daniel Bryan.

              - Other familiar faces are expected to return, at least a few. A Ric Flair confrontation with CM Punk was planned as of a week ago. We also know that Jim Ross will be returning. WWE will be announcing Mick Foley's Hall of Fame induction tonight but it remains to be seen if he will appear live or not.

              - Bo Dallas worked another match at last night's WWE live event in Tyler, Texas. This time he teamed with Yoshi Tatsu and Justin Gabriel to defeat 3MB's Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal.

              - Former WWE Superstar Carlito noted on Twitter that he will be visiting backstage at Raw tonight, writing, "Raw is in H-town tonight. Think Im gonna go check it out. Gonna see if Primo & Epico can get me backstage so I can get an otunga autograph!!"

If those are the 4 top matches, the undercard is going to have to be amazing for me to have any interest in Wrestlemania this year. 3 of those 4 are pretty much completely predictable, are matches I really couldn't care less about seeing again and Orton/Sheamus does nothing for me either.

I hope that happens. Sheamus is ****ing terrible as a face. And just look what a turn has done for Del Rio already. I'm sure it'd do the same for Sheamus.

Really dislike the way WWE played this whole thing. They could have brought Ric back and have him work as Zigs manger for a while, Zigs starts using the figure four, the we have the raw segment where Ric is told the four fingers mean nothing anymore and Ric helps Zigs build a new four horseman...

No... AJ should be kept as far away from the 4 Horsemen as possible. That ship sailed long, long ago.
