...and as far as those people who are criticizing WWE for putting on a 3 hour tribute, look at it this way. At 8pm tonight, nobody had a clue what really happened. They had to make a call, so they went with the tribute idea.

At around 10pm, more details starting coming in. What were they going to do? End the show early because of what a few newspapers and TV stations were reporting? No. You finish the show and move on.

It'll be VERY interesting how WWE handles this down the road. Surely, they can't continue the tribute on Smackdown and ECW. I mean...how do you honor a murderer?

So let's say they abandon the tribute...what do they do? Do they acknowledge it? Do they ignore it? It's a very tough spot. Probably the toughest spot WWE and Vince McMahon has ever been in.

Very good point there TJ. Especially with the SD tapings tomorrow night and the ECW show, trying to figure out the direction here is going to be very hard for the McMahons.

1-The VKM angle appears to be done with.
2-I think that they will just let this Benoit tragedy quietly go away as they go the other direction, unless there is something in the case that we don't know about.

Isn't it possible that if the it does turn out to be a murder by Chris, that the WWE may disregard him and continue the McMahon angle? Not saying I hope they do, but it seems like a likely excuse they'd use.

I think they have to look away if what is being reported happened. I even think the fans would want them to sort of...not turn their back to him...but at the same time...not do the Hall of Fame induction...and just kind of let his legacy in the ring speak for itself but kind of go the other way.

At the time of those testimonals by the WWE Superstars...not a heck of a lot was know. Those same people will still be hurt and confused...but it may be focused in another direction.

As most people here...I'm kind of at a loss for words...not knowing exactly everything that led up to Saturday night.

Don't even get me started on the "Real World."

To be honest bro...I couldn't care less about his sporting legacy. If he did kill a woman and a 7 year old...he deserves all the dislike that comes his way. The man was a giant. A 7 year old is tiny. A woman can't fight back. It's just wrong in every way possible.

The thing is though we liked these Athletes because of what they have done in their career. That's what made us become fans. What will happen now is that the amazing hall of fame wreslter will forever be remembered as the guy that killed his family. He's the one that that's destoryed his image and his career. It goes to show that no matter how good you are your job, that one wrong thing outside of it can ruin everything you've ever done great on a professional and personal level.

It's sad to see people self destruct like this.

It's even worse that he didn't let his son live.

Benoit failed to appear both at Saturday’s live event in Beaumont, Tx., and WWE’s Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency. Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Hering, in turn, spoke with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested that they respond to the Benoit residence to check on him and his family.

If something was going on from Sunday morning, and WWE was made aware of it than due to the text messages didn't they try to find out if Benoit was ok on Sunday?

I don't think they can. Not as being tasteless...but those that saw it...it's not going to have the same impact since Vince was actually seen on TV (although it wasn't technically a "RAW" show...it was just a tribute show). It's not going to have that "OMG" moment when Vince walks from the back to reveal his attacker. (I can't use the "k" word at this moment due to the information coming out)

This is the last thing I'm going to say on the subject until more concrete evidence comes out...

First I would like to apologize for being so irresponsible in this thread through the night... I got caught up in the wild speculation and let it take me over. Secondly, to the family and friends of the Benoit Family, I am so sorry for your loss, that includes you Millennium. Secondly, for whatever really did happen in that house, none of us know and I pray for Chris, his wife, and his child. Finally, lets all remember that these wrestlers are humans and the pain they must be going through is unimaginable and that we may all keep them in our thoughts and prayers at this time.

I went away for a couple hours after RAW and just came back and read on the OS and the WWE site about this double homicide murder... something I wasn't expecting.

I just don't believe it... and will not judge until facts are out there.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not going to believe that Chris did it simply based upon a DA being "confident" that it was him. I learned my lesson from the Duke Lacross incident about believing things too early, so until solid facts come out I'll just mourn the loss of one of the greatest wrestlers ever.
