I don't know why people kill, I've never killed anyone and I have no desire to but if you want to make excuses for why one guy killed his family then you have to excuse every other serial killer, that's not something that I'm willing to do, especially when this mental illness thing is just speculation based on nothing but hopes.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

So, you think someone would just commit suicide for fun? I'm sorry, I just can't see the logic behind it.

Yea seriously I thought that too. I thought id get in trouble if I said anything though.

Also just to add....sure this does seem crazy, but after doing some thinking....this sort of thing happens every other day of the week and catches friends, family and co-workers by suprise, its just that this was on a mainstream level of why it seems so much more shocking.

Most killers have some kind of mental issue.

We are all taught from the time we are young that killing is wrong.
Those that end up doing it though have some kind of issue. You have too.

              BUT!!!

It doesn't give ANYONE the right to kill.

That's because you're looking at it from the rationale standpoint of its not right to hurt other people. For a "normal" person I agree 100%. IF, which is a big IF, Benoit was clinically depressed he may have suffered from dementia, psychosis, hallucinations and that would explain a whole lot. In that case he wouldn't be in the same reality you and I are in.

This is ridiculous. Like something straight out of a movie. The facts need to be set straight before jumping to conclusions but it doesn't look good for Benoit =/

Mentally ill or not, it was sick and cowardly what Benoit did.

I understand that but you also have fans who aren't looking at this from a rational point of view. Most of them have never met the guy yet they "know" that he would never do anything like that. They want him to have a mental illness because they don't want their childhood memories tarnished but as someone said, things like this happen everyday. If he was just some guy off the street I don't think there would be very many people defending him.

Agreed. No one was defending the actions of the Virginia Tech killer in the thread we had for that, I don't know why this should be any different.

I don't think anyone is really trying to Defend him.
There's always a reason behind things that people do... it would explain this better IF he was suffereing from something. People might not know, even his closest friends since some people CAN HIDE how they really feel.

No matter what, killing is killing.
There's nothing you can say that will make it right.
But family and friends will want to know WHAT triggered him. People here are going off of what if's and probable causes.

People need to look at cases like this, even with the COMMON JOE/JANE because things like this can happen from anyone at anytime. It doesn't matter what anyone says. "I could never murder..." but people do it all the time. WHAT sets them off, that's what you try and learn so hopefully if you ever expierence that feeling you can shut it off (if possible) or just hurt yourself instead of harming others.

I think that some of us are having a really hard time believing that this is even happening. Then there are some that think this is utterly sick, distrurbing + were not even too sure anymore where to place Benoit and his legacy. If he did all this, as a wrestler the man deserves to be up there with Flair, Steamboat, Race, etc.....but as a human being that committed a crime, he will be looked at as being scum.

I'm very torn on what to feel with all these new reports coming out the last hour.

I'm not defending Benoit or the VT killer, but I also believe both had severe mental problems. HOWEVER, that doesn't justify the actions they did. It's as simple as that.
