The WWE sickens me. Just like the kneejerk reactions going on here, the WWE is acting on rumor and conjecture. Everybody should wait until the investigation is complete until passing judgment.

The mods were so heavy-handed last night about speculation. What happened?

It's not a rumor when the district attorney and the police are saying that he killed himself and his family.

It would not make sense to continue the McMahon death angle after he appeared this past Raw. I think WWE should tone down the over the top storylines for a while and concentrate on in ring action with enough story to justify the matches.

I wouldn't say tone things down, I just think they have to scrap the Mr. McMahon death angle because everyone just saw he's alive.

Yep, I dont think its in bad taste to continue what the story line was trying to accomplish, but based on the fact that he had to break character and was seen live...its pretty much pointless to continue it.

Where did you get the info that the DA and the police said this? The police has only said that they believe this to be a double murder-suicide case. We wont know for sure until all the evidence has been examined.

My second cousin is an officer with GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigations) and what he's heard in his circle is that Chris Benoit's wife killed their son Daniel, called Chris and told him to rush home because of an emergency which is why he missed last Sunday's Vengeance PPV. Upon arriving home Benoit killed his wife in a rage for the death of his son and then killed himself Monday morning. His wife's body was found in the master bedroom, strangled with the cord from an alarm clock. The son's body was found in his room apparently suffocated with a garbage bag. Chris then wrote a suicide note explaining what had happened, apologized to his family, his other children (from a separate relationship), and his fans. He then fashioned a slip-knot noose from from rope taken from the garage and hung himself from the banister in the foyer of his suburban Atlanta home.

This has already been proven untrue by the authorities.

I posted this a couple of pages back. It pretty much contradicts on what we have been hearing from the media. Chris was found in the weight room and the wife was found in the office.

The police aren't searching for any suspects and have said that they are working on this case under the assumption that he killed himself and his family.

Authorities believe wrestler Benoit killed wife, son then himself

Authorities believe a professional wrestler, his wife and son ‑ found dead in their central Fayette County home Monday afternoon ‑ died in a murder-suicide.

District Attorney Scott Ballard said Monday night that he felt confident that Chris Benoit killed his wife Nancy, their 7-year-old son and then himself.

Ballard declined to release the cause of death, but said that earlier news reports that the Benoits died of gunshots were false. The crime lab is in the process of confirming the cause of death, but Ballard said there was enough evidence on scene to make him confident that the Benoits were not killed by another person.

Ballard said sheriff's deputies were called to the Benoit home around 2:30 p.m. after another wrestler called the sheriff's department asking them to check on the family because Benoit had failed to show up for an event in another state. When deputies got to the Benoit home off Quarters Road, they smelled the odor of decaying bodies, Ballard said.

The family's bodies were found inside the home, Ballard confirmed.

"Every indication is that this is a murder-suicide," Ballard said, adding that additional investigation still has to take place before a final determination can be made.

Ballard said when he heard that a young child was killed, it "just tore my guts out."

Benoit made his WWE debut in January 2000, following a stint in ECW and WCW and he was at one time world heavyweight champion, world tag team champion and intercontinental champion.

I don't know if anyone had mentioned this before but from the reports I have read (from reputable news sites) Benoit not only missed the PPV Sunday but a house show on Saturday in Beaumont Texas. WWE made up the "family emergency" excuse.

Speculation in a national news story is not only common, it's what the internet thrives on. More importantly, it is not a TOS violation at OS and should not result in any deleted posts or locked threads.

If you don't want to see it in the thread, I would suggest you not read the thread.
