Man, I just found out about this within the last hour or so, and I've been reading this entire thread and other news articles around the net while it soaked it. This is some real messed up stuff. Whenever someone who you're so used to seeing dies, you automatically remember the last time you them. Mine, like many others, was seeing him beat Elijah Burke on ECW a week or so ago. My most memorable though, was a match he had with Kurt Angle, and it was a beautiful thing to watch.

Still, with the news that's been reported now, it really is sickening to think of what he did Nancy and that poor child. I have 5 and 6 year old boys myself and couldn't think of anything like that happening to them. It's truly sad.

I watched RAW on DVR after reading some of the reports. Noticed a couple of interesting things. If you still have it recorded, watch how the feeling of the show changes. Especially JR and Lawler. It felt like they were learning new things as the show was going on. They went from talking about Beniot the family man and professional to just professional. Also, in Edge's segment, notice how he phrased talking to Benoit when he had personal problems. It really seemed to me that he was indictating that he knew Benoit was going through personal problems. Also note that at the beginning of the show they show him when he won title in the ring with his wife and holding and kissing one of his sons, at the end of the show they do not show that. It was very creepy watching that and hearing about how private he was, how much respect meant to him, how he had his sons wearing coats and ties whenever they were at the arena. Very surreal.

As far as I'm concerned, I will remember Chris Benoit in two different ways (if he ends up really being the murderer):

1. Chris Benoit is a sad, pathetic individual who committed the ultimate crime of taking the lives of his own family. And if there is a hell, he'd definitely be burning in it.

2. Chris Benoit is also one of the greatest professional wrestlers ever, and no matter what happens, I will always remember The Crippler for the years of entertainment that he provided the millions of wrestling fans worldwide.

It's horrible that this has happened, and I really still haven't soaked it all in yet. May they all RIP, and my heart and condolences out to the Benoit family and friends.

I just wonder how the WWE will bounce back from this.

Meltzer is reporting that the WWE will return to regular programming tomorrow with a RAW/ECW taping that will not focus on the McMahon death angle but will not be a Benoit tribute either.

Take it for what it's worth but the writing is on the wall.

Also the WWE site has been altered a lot since this first broke...subtle changes that make them appear as if they're trying to distance themselves from Benoit. No more video tributes, changing "Chris Benoit was one of the greatest WWE wrestling champions" to "Chris Benoit was one of the most-accomplished men to ever step foot in the ring", having his picture go from 'Chris Benoit 1967-2007,' to 'In Loving Memory of the Benoit Family', and even the tribute video is now a "retrospective". Maybe I'm reading too much into things or maybe I'm not, I dunno.

Also, anyone else find Regal and Malenko's tributes a bit odd...esp. Regal's. He looked pissed off more than anything.

I think that definitely is intentional. Once the smoke clears from this tragedy, the media is going to question why so many wrestlers' lives end tragically.

I have been trying to wrap my mind around this whole thing. I have been a fan of Benoit a really long time and was always excited to see him perform because he really put his body on the line for the fans.
That being said though, I have been reading the updated news like everyone else and I am really disturbed about what they are finding. That at least right now (6am EST), he killed his wife and 7 yo son (over the weekend) and then himself on Monday. How do you stay in the home for a day at least while your wife and kid are dead?
There is absolutely no excuse for that. I am truely sickened with the news and I am sure over the next few days and weeks we will all get a more clear picture of what happened.
Obviously there was an issue in the home but like almost everyone on Raw said last night, Benoit was a private person and kept a lot of family things to himself. I dont know if WWE found out that he was having issues at home if thay would have done anything or not. Im guessing that they might not have done anything, but we will never know.
The legacy of Benoit will always be marred with this tragedy. I cant be a fan of a man who murdered anyone, no matter who he is. Mental problems or not he had choices, because there are a lot of people out there batteling the same problems and they have not killed there wife and child. He was the last one alive in that home and took his own life.
The cowards way out........

With all the speculation going on, from chris murdering both, or nancy murdering daniel then chris murdering nancy, i dont know what the hell to believe. All I know is A family is gone. One of the greatest wrestling entertainers I have ever seen is no more. No one knows what happened for sure, and even with an investigation it will be hard to say for certain what happened. I just know news like this makes me very choked up. and feel bad for all involved. mainly family like the parents and brothers and sisters of the Benoits

There never was an emergency. He left the WWE tour without telling anyone, and WWE covered it up by saying he left due to "personal issues".

As a WCW fan I hate this as a wrestling fan I hate seeing these tribute shows they are really sad.
This is crazy timing with this whole vince death going on now someone actually died! If anyone really believed Vince was dead can you imagine how shocked they were when he was talking in the ring at the start of Raw! Some kids really believe this is real.....will they believe Benoit is really dead?
I dont think WWE will be faking deaths anymore but can you imagine how this messed up so many story lines, how will the writers get out of this one?
Maybe congress should do some investigating on whats really going on in wrestling and whats causing these guys to keep droping like flies. This is getting crazy.

Man that is truly screwed up. I really don't know what to say. I started watching when I was about 4 years old but stoppd watching about 4 years ago. (Started to get too ridiculous). The DYnamite Kid was my absolute favorite and Chris Benoit was like a carbon copy of Dynamite. Brilliant technical wrestler. If it wasn't for his poor mic skills I'm sure he would have won the World Title a fistful of times.

Until all the details are confirmed I will keep my opinion to myself. The wrestling world has lost yet another all-time great.
