Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Noticed a few things going through these Nitro's and PPVs of WCW, first and foremost Bobby Heenan was so damn good in whatever he did. He new about wrestling and was funny as hell. Nothing he said seemed forced or like he was trying to be funny which made it so much better, always liked him.
Loved the times when he seemed to get upset cause he wasn't getting info on what was going on outside or in the back.
Also there was no way in hell Mongo needed to be on commentary much less wrestling...only reason he was tolerable to me was because of the back and forth with Heenan.
The Horsemen Flair, Benoit, Anderson and Pillman could have been a nice version of the Horsemen but it was so lacking, Pillman didn't really fit for me because of the way he was being a "loose cannon" Horsemen were about planning attacks and having a goal, Pillmans character just did things just to do it. If while in the Horsemen they would have changed him a bit it could have worked IMO
The wrestling for a was pretty good early on but there were some things that was like what in the world were you thinking. Sting was getting big then but seems like they could have done a lot more with him instead of having him baby sit Luger so much earlier.
Think he could have been much bigger and better than he was although he was always pretty over with the fans. Good thing is you can see things change for the better before the NWO was formed and I'm assuming that was because of Eric. Pretty good stuff overall though.Last edited by Sinner; 09-14-2014, 08:41 AM.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Watching Night of Champions 2012 Cena vs Punk.
Cena takes like 6 finishers including a rock bottom and kicks out of everything. Then pops up and hits punk with an AA like nothing happened.
Do you guys have a huge beef with guys kicking out of multiple finishers as I do? It ruins everything I feel like.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I think 3 is my limit, but 5-6? It's just overkill.
My dream match is a match where the story is the two guys' finishers are strong enough to where if they get hit with it the match is over. So the tension can build the whole match and each reversal out of a finisher is like a hold your breath moment.Comment

Anybody catch the new Monday Night Wars episode? Thought it was pretty good and it was my first time seeing those clips of the cameras following Bret around even right after he dropped Vince that night in Montreal.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Pretty amazing how bad WCW botched Bret Hart's entry into the company. That was easy money and they flushed it down the toilet. I love how Bischoff justified the booking of Bret by saying how he wasn't 100 percent invested. Hard to be invested when the company you work for literally has no idea what to do with you.
The failure of using Bret properly by WCW sums up why they went out of business.Currently Playing:

Hit a guy with a finisher on a Monday night? Instant death.
On a PPV? He'll be fine, it was only one finisher.
I think finishers should *almost* never be kicked out of - nor should they be used on a weekly basis. Typical WWE-style matches, though. It's a shame their product is what it is, with all the talent they do have.badComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I havent seen the episode yet but I wonder if its the same shots they got of him in the locker/ shower after punching mcmahon? That was on the documentary.
Anyone else watching WCW nitro's in order then the PPV to go with it? I missed the debut of STYXX and Ted Debiase when it happend. So cool to relive it. It was also something to see to how the NWO grew way out of hand. The original concept was so cool.atleast..Its not DelawareComment
