Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
In a number of cases that does seem to be the case, but when people see someone getting little reaction today/a dead crowd, they're like "Remember in attitude era when fans would go crazy over low-card guys". Yet those people completely forget there's so many superstars on the roster who got almost no reaction either. Even some of their big stars had matches with no reaction(or just bad ones). Undertaker-Bossman at WM inside HIAC is one example I can think of.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I'm going through Monday Nitro and PPVs', right now I'm at the Monday Nitro before Bash at the Beach 96 where the New World Order was formed and Larry Zybyszko just said that at Bash of the Beach it's going to be a New World Order...wonder if it was a Horsemen like thing where it was said and they said yeah that's the name we're using. Did they tell him to say it as it was known what the name would be or a coincidence? Just thought it was pretty interesting.Currently Playing:

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I'm at the Dude Love/Canada vs USA part of WWE in 97 and it's real interesting to watch.
Canada vs USA storyline in 97 is exactly how WWE should be doing a country vs country feud. Not like the stupid stuff going on now with some Russian monster vs USA. The thing that made Canada-USA feud so much better is how shows were in both countries, so it wasn't just Hart Foundation ripping on USA crowd every week and getting booed. One week they're in Canada getting cheered like heroes, next week they're in USA being booed out of arena. Then they were back in Canada a week later getting cheered again! There was even an episode where entire arena sang the anthem UNINTERRUPTED!
Austin got booed so badly during all of that too! lol, only in Canada would Stone Cold Steve Austin get booed while being a good guy. Austins boos in Canada are even louder than Cena boos.
Funny thing about all of this is when Dude Love debuted, they actually made it seem like this would be THE character for Mick Foley. Saying Cactus Jack and Mankind were ok,but Dude Love is THE character from Foley. Sad thing is that if WWE did stay kid friendly,Dude Love might have actually been the main character for Foley.
Gonna watch Summerslam 97 tomorrow. All those crazy stipulations the Hart Foundation added on themselves were funny. lol,Stone Cold was the originator of the "kiss my ___ club" with the stipulation he added for himself against Owen.
They played Dude Love up because that was Foley's dream gimmick he created for himself as a kid.I'm a Vince McMahon Guy!

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I can't remember, who was #6? When they started it with Dusty Rhodes I had a bad feeling about where the countdown was going but I was happy to see Rick Rude at #2. It's tough to top somebody that airbrushes another man's wife on to his tightsComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Shawn Michaels. I got no issue with Rick Rude at number 2. I don't even mind Macho at 1 even though I personally think Shawn has the best ring attire ever, but I feel like there's no way Shawn is out of the top 5 all time in ring gear behind Macho, Rude, Undertaker, Ric Flair and Warrior.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Watched Monday Night Wars episode featuring Foley. One of most noteworthy things about that one.....How Foley talked about how his character was popular and all with basically every single person EXCEPT Mr.McMahon, which was the reason why he didn't get to be as big as first cause he had to win over Mr.McMahon before his character could be bigger.
lol, what else is new. If that's how Mr.McMahon felt back then, imagine today when he has absolutely no motivation to push anyone who gets over unless it gets as serious of a case as Daniel Bryan got.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
curious on something. A buddy of mine and I were talking about a PPV tag match with the Hardys VS APA. Could have been a triple threat but we remmeber watching it when Farooq killed Jeff hardy when hardy leaped into the corner for a leg splash and farooq took his head off and the crowd went nuts. Sound familer to anyone?atleast..Its not DelawareComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Foley has told this story several times. He said the interviews with JR were the real turning point in Vince getting on board with him.
I've heard it at least twice on podcasts and the MNW episode. It's either true or he's memorized the story.I'm a Vince McMahon Guy!

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Oh, I know that's what he says. But the dude pretty much immediately went over The Undertaker. It took him a few years to win the title, but he was at or near the top of the card his entire time there. I believe Vince not being entirely behind the character, but it's not like he was remotely held back on that run.Comment

Don't forget, when Vince first met Foley he called him "Nick." So yeah, it took some time for Vince to warm up to Mrs Foley's little boy.Comment

Watched the E&C special. The Smackdown clips themselves were things we've seen many of times, but they had a good rapport in their skits. They made me chuckle.
Also glad to see Edge doing something WWE related again. He's said he hasn't watched the product since he had to retire, and he and the company basically became estranged after his contract officially expired.Comment
