    Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

Speaking of Prime Time Wrestling, I recently started watching that show. From the start of Heenan's arrival, you can visibly see Monsoon ready to crack up numerous times through the show. It's amazing they actually got through an episode each week.

I have fond memories of this show and it's great; you get a handful of matches from various WWF shows with some interview segments and then Heenan-Monsoon banter to set up or get out of a match.

Speaking of Heenan, they showed a match where he cleanly beat Salvatore Bellomo at MSG. I was stunned. Poor Bellomo can't even beat a manager. Heenan was so good in this match, though, that he managed to get the MSG crowd behind Bellomo, who received more support than a majority of today's roster.

That was a great bit of psychology by Heenan to get the crowd going for Bellomo. One thing that is sorely lacking in today's product is the ability for the wrestler to really get the crowd to buy into what's going on and to create an atmosphere where the crowd can really interact and have an impact in the flow of the match. The only guys today that can do that if they want are HHH and Cena when he's in a more neutral site rather than a place that instantly is 60/40 against him.

PTW is a great show but there are some episodes that are a slog to get through and they don't have much in ring material to put on. You'll also get periods where they show only certain wrestlers which can be good at times but then other times you get guys who can't work for crap. Where I am i'm seeing a good variety of Harley Race matches. There's one match with him and Lanny Poffo which was very enjoyable to watch. There's also been a glut of Pedro Morales stuff being shown as well. Pedro may have been past his prime in '86 but he could still work in the ring. I love seeing stuff like that because it just goes to show you that back in the day a guy can still work a quality match and get the crowd excited.

I'm just enjoying seeing my all-time favorite jobber, Iron Mike Sharpe on each episode so far.

Swerved episode 3....the truth stuff was funniest when paige was there. His reaction to that was so funny. And him randomly asking jbl/booker about elephant names lol.

They need to stop with those fake cameraroom gags. Getting old real fast.

That restaurant thing was real stupid.

Kofi/woods stuff was real funny. Woods reactions were the best in both pranks.

For those of us wondering about retro content apparently Joey Styles will be having a meeting regarding that issue. Maybe this means they'll actually have some kind of strategy on the release of retro content.

Not glad that it's causing problems for you, but I'm glad someone else is having this issue too! I noticed one night it kept pausing. To the point it was every 10 seconds or so. I figured it was my internet, but noticed it was only during my Nitro marathons.

Joey Styles is awesome. He's one of the few that really does listen to the fans and at least makes an attempt to get things like this taken care of. Obviously no guarantees that the content will be uploaded, but it can't hurt to ask, so at least someone in WWE like Styles is asking those questions.

Jerry Allen was my guy. I remember he would occasionally get whipped in to the corner and end up turning that in to a reverse cross body of the second rope that he would never hit. I was always impressed that he got to at least attempt a move besides throwing punches and the occasional failed jobber bodyslam attempt

Yeah I heard about that myself, I didn't watch RAW so i've no clue if it's just rumor mongering or not but knowing that Styles is trying to push for retro content I can see it as a distinct possibility.

Not exactly the retro content i'd want but hey, it's a start!

This episode of swerved was slightly better. The coffee stuff was funny, but I wonder if they ever told the people it was part of a prank, cause everyone just stayed in that place during the entire thing...how did nobody leave or confront them or anything? Was it even a real place?

The Paige one was funny, having some random kid pranking Axel/Naomi. Though they go too far on this show having those uncomfortable moments for superstars when strangers are getting too close/personal with them(in the case of this episode, having the dad hitting on Naomi, who is married). Obviously once they find out it's a prank,it's funny, but during that moment, you have to think how awkward/uncomfortable it is for them(like that los matadores one where they had to give an autograph to that old lady,in a way not suitable for kids to see)

And then Los Matadores LOL. The superstars prob never knew what they were saying, until watching this episode.

That random pee gatorade thing. Surely people will start to talk backstage about Tom if they didn't know this was a prank lol. And Summer was actually really nice during that whole thing. Some complete stranger, and she's willing to help her out and everything just like that.
