****. I miss chair shots and the ignorance that went with them. Rock going Hank Aaron on Shamrock was one of my favorite moments. I'm sure I wouldn't respond that way now as more than half the **** they do on ladders makes me cringe.

Was rare case, but they did lead to it. I think it was something like his brain resembled an 80 year old with some disease, that's how bad it was.

That and obviously everything over past decade especially about concussions, chairshots to head while impactful on tv, not worth it.

When used correctly, both can be good storytelling tools. Unfortunately, you had guys like Triple H and HBK that juiced almost every match during that era, and the chair shots seemed to happen a few times a show/PPV. WWE really de-sensitized the audience to them that they lost their value.

On the topic of bringing things back, can we bring back more political incorrectness to our promos? Annoys me how everything is taken so seriously today and feel like people go out of their way to be offended by some things.

Some guys were smart enough to put their hands up at least. Bret and Austin did, I know. Triple H had a way of falling back to avoid at least some of it.

Chair shots are like those gnarly NFL hits back in the day. We knew they were wrong, but it's hard not to react to them.

I never thought those hits were wrong back then. Shoot, they were part of the reason I got into Football in the first place when I was a kid.

Inside the realm of the game being played they’re not wrong.

The issue that is debated is whether or not the risk of playing the game is worth the likely adverse effect one will like have later in life.

I suppose the dwindling youth players are an indication that the belief is it’s not.

Why did Shamrock never put his hands up?

                    Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

Probably a choice. Like if someone wants to seem tougher to the rest of the lockerroom, they'll be like "I can take a chairshot to the head because I'm not soft".

Just like when people run into steel posts. Most just block with their hands, but the few times they don't, it ends up like Lesnar a few years ago.

Nowadays it's easy to criticize logic from the past. I don't find it to be any worse having chair shots to the back vs head. The only thing I don't like is how we rarely ever see stuff like that anytime. Even no DQ matches or fatal 4 ways and stuff, we might see 1-2 weapons used a match and that's it. What happened to when guys would bring shopping cart filled with stuff to the ring, or just lifting up the ring apron and there'd be chairs, ladders, tables, garbage bins, sledgehammers, kendo sticks, fire extinguishers, steel pipes and anything else you can think of(on rare occasion,an actual kitchen sink).

That's another negative thing between TV shows and PPVs. It's basically just the same normal matches we see. No gimmicks, stipulations or anything that'd have to interested. I'm sure most would rather see Gallows/Anderson vs Hardys in a falls count anywhere match that actually goes more than just ringside, than normal tag match #15

Speaking of political incorrectness, I wouldn't have minded seeing Stephanie on the receiving end of a frog splash last night, although that would be more appropriate if the match was going to be HHH vs KO

Was watching one of those "Desire" type retrospective music videos on youtube, showing all the different eras, and they had Mae Young (in a neckbrace) getting power-bombed off the ramp onto a table by (I think) Bubba Dudley. Good times.

It was the least sexist they’d ever been. They treated everyone as equal.

Was just at that episode a couple weeks ago. The Power Trip was something else. Those *** whippings they laid on Lita and the Hardy's was nuts. The one where Triple H Pedigreed the **** out of her after clocking her in the back of the head and then stomping the **** out of her. Damn bruh
