Yeah I’d have to agree. Back during that time period 98-2002. I’ve never seen more wrestling t shirts out in public than any other time. They were as prevalent as local sports team stuff back then.

Well then you must have been lucky enough to know a decent amount of wrestling fans in 1998. The boom in the 1980s put pro wrestling on the pop culture map for sure, but by 1993-1995 it had dropped down few pegs.

By "underground/niche" I meant mostly the look of the show and the people in the crowd. It just makes me nostalgic for when WWF wasn't this slick, publicly traded company, and fans didn't robotically chant, "this is awesome," as though they were trained sitcom studio audience.

Bad Blood 97, I will always remember it as the PPV where Brian Pillman was announced as dead.

Man, someone at the network must really love World Class. It seems that content drop has been going on for a couple months now!

I’m in February 99 and I forgot about Chyna turning on Triple H after his I Quit Match with The Rock on Raw.

Was like “Wait a minute, she looks TOO attractive for DX compared to how she looked before”, lol.

My man was out here speaking in Latin and slitting his wrists, making Dennis Knight drink his blood before he became Mideon. I thought he was trippin' at the time and that's why he had me shook.

Don't forget he wanted to embalm Austin alive.

Crazy how back then, they were hosting and selling out Raw at the Skydome, which holds 53,000 seats.

That's how hot the WWF was during that time period.

And hung Big Boss Man from the cell at WM15.

And he pulled off that demonic look by simply shaving off his mustache and growing his chin hair out. That entrance attire at WM15 was awesome (scary).

                              My favorite Undertaker, too.

I kinda wish Vince would've stayed face during the whole "Greater Power" storyline with power-hungry Shane using Stephanie to distract Vince and take over the WWE, only for the Undertaker to be pulling the strings and using Shane's greed and inexperience to take ownership. Then Vince turns to Austin to help regain control. Eventually Vince goes back to heel by screwing over Austin, but he still owes Austin one, which Austin cashes in at WM 17 in 2001, with Vince and now-heel Austin beating up on Dwayne with JR losing his mind on commentary.

I do like how it ended up playing out, though.

"IT'S ME, AUSTIN!" "AW, SON OF A *****!"

And I do like how they were able to start the McMahon-Helmsley Faction with Stephanie getting pay back on her dad for putting her through that ordeal.
