80’s/90’s Superstars would be great. Hell I’d take Livewire at this point since it looks like Thunder is just never going to happen.

I'm stoked to see this BUT at the same time I know exactly what i'm going to get and will probably be all "bleh" about it pretty quickly. WWWF TV was the most boring and plodding of the territory wrestling content back in the day. It's why WWF never truly got out of the stigma of being full of big, slow lumbering workers who work a lazy style. Honestly, it wasn't until the early to mid '90s when that perception started changing a bit with Hart, Michaels, Waltman and Hall were doing their thing.

God watching late 2002/early 2003 Smackdown and watching John Cena as he was when he first adopted his rapper persona with B-2 rolling with him is so depressing knowing what Cena becomes.

Speaking of depressing, I'm at part of Raw with the controversial Hawk stuff in 1998 (him on Raw "under the influence"). Having him come out and publicly apologize completely out of character and everything too.

Classic Attitude Era. I remember watching that Raw live. Makes crowds now look like crap.

Yeah, just looked it up on the network. Prime Attitude Era, with everythying you can think of. Austin/McMahon, Austin/Rock, Rock/Mankind, Sexual Chocolate, Gilberg, Godfather, Shamrock snapping, Al Snow/Head, Triple H led DX, Chyna vs Triple H feud. It's just amazing to hear the crowd pop every segment, and nearly every entrance.

Crowds popped for basically everything. That's a part of WWEs past I feel helps to exaggerate things for people. Sure, these big feuds are obviously some of best in history, but when you have fans jumping out of their seats for moves that are average by todays standards, you know the crowd plays big role in overhyping things.

Imagine WWEs product today, with crowds as loud as AE/RA era, or even just Raw after WM level noises(not chants). You'd definitely be looking at various things in a more positive and exciting manner.

Basically "mob mentality". If you watch something with no crowd reaction, you aren't as likely to react as you would if 15,000 people in the arena were all going crazy cheering for things.

I kinda wish we'd go back to the days of virtually everyone in the arena with signs. I mean, yeah it must've been a pain in the *** as a fan in the building but it made for an awesome visual on TV and the fans were almost always enthusiastic for EVERYTHING even if it didn't make a lick of sense.

I miss camera flashes more than the signs. That's when you knew it was something epic.

It's not one particular moment, but just in general watching these matches from Raw and PPVs on a weekly basis like I'm doing, I see fans getting excited by things like an elbow drop from the top rope, a dive between the ropes to the outside of the ring(which is overdone nowadays and used as their "go to commercial" move), suplexes and so on.

Sure, but the question is do you blame WWE for not giving their current demographics much to pop for on a weekly basis, or do we blame the fans for sitting in silence most nights? You could do both.

I personally do have issues with current fans driving up ticket prices by paying hundreds/thousands of dollars to go to a PPV/Raw, having zero energy, and in the process keeping WWE financially set. If you think the product is mediocre, don't go.

Maj this is one of the most senseless points you’ve ever tried to make. So the fans popping moves back then that aren’t that impressive in 2018 is over exaggerating things and mob mentality?

That’s like saying in 2002 crowds popping for the Pedigree if someone was doing it back in the 80’s would be exaggerating things and being a mob mentality because by 2002 we were used to the Pedigree and it wasn’t really new any more. People pop for the Red Arrow because it’s an amazing move that mainstream wrestling crowds had never seen before and it’s an impressive sight to see. According to your logic though if someone was doing it during the Attitude Era and the crowd was going nuts for it, it’d be over exaggerating things because here in 2018 it’d be a move we’ve seen 150,000 times by now so it wouldn’t pop the crowd like it currently does.
