Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I could listen to interviews with him all day, he's got a brilliant wrestling mind. That was cool hearing him talk about how the shot of him standing on the ladder with the titles after the match at WM10 was something HBK came up with on the fly when the match endedComment

SummerSlam 99:
Sure it's 1999, but what is Road Dogg wearing?
Spoiler-Jarrett vs DLo. Henry comes in and costs DLo the match and the titles.
-Tag team gauntlet match to determine #1 contenders for tag titles. Kicks off with Edge & Christian vs the NEW BROOD. Ends with Acolytes winning.
-Road Dogg briefly joins commentary table for Hardcore title match. Then leaves, being like "That's it, I'm not gonna stand for this (he stands up), or sits for this....What'd I mean to say?", and begins to do commentary on a live mic for the crowd while he follows the action.
-Snow/Bossman fight everywhere yet again. Going across the street in Minnesota, fighting at some bar. Snow wins the match, gets back to the arena, and BWO are there doing something with Pepper.
-Rock backstage promo where he asks Michael Cole if he's "comme ci comme ca".
-Blackman/Shamrock in a Lions Den match with weapons around the cage. Shamrock eventually wins the match. It was better than I thought it'd be. I'm surprised WWE hasn't done this match yet with Rousey. I think Rousey vs anyone in this type of match would be perfect.
-Test beats Shane in a "love her or leave her" match.
-Kane debuts brand new gear. Another one of his cooler looking attire. He/Xpac would lose tag titles to Taker/Big Show.
-Rock vs Billy in first ever "kiss my *** match". Except Billy brought in someone else for The Rock (as JR would say, she has an "ample posterior"). Rock wins after (another JR line, "The Rock made Billy Gunn kiss that ******....").
-Triple threat match for WWF title with Jesse Venutra as guest ref. HHH enters the ring as if he's Scott Steiner. Match itself wasn't anything special, neither was the build, or the finish. Mankind wins when half the arena didn't seem to realize he won the match. HHH beats down Austin after.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Undertaker vs Triple H collection went up. Nothing really worth mentioning.
To go along with the collection, this week's Hidden Gems are 3 more Triple H vs Undertaker matches.
• 1996 Kuwait Cup - their first match
• 1997 Shotgun Saturday Night - known for the Penn Station Tombstone escalator spot
• 1997 Friday Night's Main Event - known for...nothing. I was there for this and have no recollection of it. Probably a typical late-90's TV matchComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I saw that a few months ago. Sucked watching. And you see people you wouldn't have expected to be extremely upset. And Debra's part was one of saddest since her story was about talking to Owen right before he left to do that entrance. And arriving to raw the next night, still out of habit looking for him backstage.
Like I said months ago, I think Owen was gonna feud with Jarrett? That's what the build beforehand made me think. Maybe eventually Owen getting the IC and Euro title like Jarrett got?
And The Game nickname I always wonder about. I know he was gonna get it, but what was gonna happen with it? Was he gonna get that HHH push? Do something crazy like put him in that Steph story(almost Romeo and Juliet like with a Hart and McMahon)? Maybe he was gonna run over Austin?Comment

Owen was going to win the IC title. They put it on JJ as tribute.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
What about beyond that? I'm sure they had some long term plans for him.
I'm on Raw after Summerslam.
Spoiler
-Lilians first Raw as ring announcer. She was HORRIBLE. Didn't know how to announce anything. Sounded like some random person given cuecards to introduce people they never heard of before. Thankfully she did get much better as time went on.
-HHH gets Mankind to put up his newly won WWF title (by breaking JRs arm)
-Road Dogg vs Al Snow for Hardcore title. Jericho interrupts, and Bossman comes in and dognaps Pepper.
-Kane/Xpac come to do commentary for tag title match(match lasts 2 minutes)
-Some weird Blue Meanie video (the sports entertainer pic below)
-Test proposes to Steph! Her answer....."Andrew,I love you! But I need some more time" LOL
-Jarrett gives Henry the Euro title as a gift for helping him win against DLo. He gives Debra Miss Kitty. Jarrett issues open challenge for anyone. Later leads to Chyna tricking Billy into leaving(because he couldn't find a pen) and Chyna signing up for the IC title match.
-Rock vs Gangrel. While this match only happened to give Rock more reason why he should be doing more than fighting people beneath him, it was nice seeing something like this. Guys who'd never interact with each other or be in a feud, getting to face off in a match. And Rock/Hardys interactions too.
-Raw returns from commercial break. Suddenly...Ultimate Warriors music hits! Who do we get....Howard Finkel! First real promo I've heard from Fink. Funny seeing the Jericho/Fink interactios since Jerichos debut. Fink tries acting all tough, calling out Road Dogg and starting a fight with him.
-Hollys continue to fight each other
-Chyna/Billy argue in the ring about the IC title match. Jarrett comes out and smashes his guitar over the head of Chyna!
-Rock does commentary for HHH/Mankind title match. HHH wins the WWF title for first time in his career. After Raw, Mankind wants to "hug it out" with Rock. Rock shakes his hand and leaves. Then returns, shakes his hand, quick hug, and leaves.
Title picture has been weird. First it was gonna be Austin vs HHH, then Austin/Chyna, then Austin/Mankind, then Austin/Mankind/HHH, then Mankind wins the title, and HHH wins it the next night? What was up with all of this? Why so many match switches before SS, Mankind winning at SS, and HHH winning the very next night?
LOL Fink

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
That way Ventura would raise the hand of a babyface, they get the title off Austin and get the title on Hunter as originally planned, just one day later. Chyna, I'm guessing they just decided not to go through with it though they had plans to make her Champion.Last edited by UFCMPunk; 09-30-2018, 02:05 AM.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
^I guess that'd all make sense. Not wanting HHH to go over (yet). HHH is the guy who benefited the most by Austins injury.
First (technically 2nd) episode of Smackdown. Fitting I reach this point now with SD1000 coming up soon.
Spoiler-HHH first intro as champ. Rock interrupts and we get a lengthy Rock/HHH promo. Eventually leads to Rock/HHH in main event with HBK as the ref.
-Triple threat for tag titles. Undertaker makes Big Show prove himself by going in this match alone. Big Show manages to win with XPac taking another pin.
-Bossman/Snow/Pepper story continues. Bossman agrees to give back Pepper if Snow gives him a Hardcore title match. Snow agrees, Bossman wins the match and takes Pepper anyways.
-Jerichos first ever match in WWF. Ends up getting DQed after putting Road Dogg through a table.
-Backstage segment with Jericho/Fink. It's being shown to the crowd, as Tony Chimel stands in the ring hearing what Jericho/Fink are saying about him. Fink storms to the ring to get his old job back and knocks Chimel down. Chimel comes storming back and an announcer brawl breaks out! Chimel wins this one. Jericho helps Finkel to the back, but bumps into Shamrock, leading to a fight between them.
-Steph finally makes up her mind and agrees to marry Test.
-Update on Austin saying he'll be out "a month and a half".
-Evening Gown match. Except Tori wanted to come out without any evening gown. Awkward backstage segment with her standing there trying to go to the ring, and abunch of refs and Slaughter are infront of her holding her back (or should I say front).
-I guess that Blue Meanine stuff was abandoned (was promised to have answers on SD). Reading up on it, sounds like they were trying to mock Sable after she left?
-Rock/HHH for the title. HBK ejects Chyna, "unintentionally" misses pinfalls by The Rock, superkicks The Rock, helps HHH retain his title.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Rock took time off, I believe filming the scorpion king. His eventual return is still one of my fave moments to ever watch (it was around the time I started watching regularly/really getting into wrestling).
As bad as the WCW lineup was, I don't get why they didn't just do an ECW invasion. ECW invasion alone could've lasted the summer/fall of 2001. WCW invasion could've happened in 2002. Kicks off with Flair coming in, and eventually Bischoff and the NWO. Then full on invasion once WM18 is over.
WCW lineup with Stasiak,Palumbo and all those others wasn't impressive, but ECW for me (and WCW parts like Booker, and Austin defecting) were what I liked most about the Invasion.Comment
