Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
The rap tonight was good.
"Check your girl, she's all in my mentions. Hitting me up, asking to do some oral sessions."
"What? She wants us to do her podcast!"Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
This week, Mox and Kingston used X’s version of Wild Thing as their theme music.
Next week, Jimi Hendrix’s version?
Lol, nice call back between Malenko and Jericho.
“You don’t want to make the Man of a Thousand Hold angry.”
“You know 4 more Chris.”
“I’ve forgotten a few Dean.”

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
I see people mention his name often and I'm just not sure why they want a guy that's been making theme songs since the 80's in 2021 other than nostalgia?

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
Jim Johnston isn't the only person who can put together a good entrance theme but he's got a huge portfolio that people have had a lifetime of hearing so he keeps getting mentioned.
I think he'd be a good guy for all these new music guys to get ideas on the process from because he did it for so long, but I don't know if that's something he'd want to do.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
I'd imagine he'd also be charging a high price to do them. There's probably a good reason he hasn't done themes anywhere else.
Just go the WWE route and get some small band to do themes. Except don't end on bad terms and risk getting into issues later on which cause you to dub over past themes.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
To me Johnston's most underrated attribute is his ability to move between genres and still create competent and memorable songs. That kind of versatility is severely lacking with modern themes. They tend to have a sameness to them, unless you have a team of writers/performers working independently to create different songs, or, in AEW's case, guys have songs that they've carried over since their indy days, or Tony Khan just licenses mainstream music. The WWE approach from CFO onward has led to some boring boring music.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
Wrestling is so much better on TV with a larger live audience.

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
Can't wait for DoN with fans, and the shows beyond that.
And then WWE from July onwards back to normal too.
Crazy to think that most of AEWs existence has been without fans! Dynamite went on for 5 months with fans. That's about a quarter of its run!
Mox only just won the title, Britt I think only recently turned heel, so much has changed since then.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
I feel like it'll look strange to me at first but I'll instantly just get back into the habit of seeing fans again, as if we haven't been without fans for what feels like 5 years.

Also, is it me or do I hear fireworks constantly going off in the background during Dynamite.Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).
Last TV Show Watched: MARVEL's What If?...(S3:E7).
