So they are reverting Toni Storm back to Timeless Toni before the match at Grand Slam. On one hand, we knew it was coming but definitely was enjoying h reverting to old Toni and pretending she just joined the company and what not. Would have loved to seen it go longer, like to Double or Nothing, maybe All In Texas.

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
That Toni-Mariah segment was great. I thought they were just going to end it after Toni said "what makes you think I forgot?" but they went all the way with it.
Mox doing Renee's close up segment next week. I believe this is the first Renee/Mox interview/interaction since he turned heel so it'll be interesting to see how they handle it, especially when he's riding around with Marina (thankfully this isn't Vince's WWE or you know where this would go).
Speaking of Mox, how long before the former hound of Justice goes up against the Hounds of Hell?Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
It's fun when something happens and you can see the wrestlers trying so hard not to break. Obviously, R-Truth is on a whole other level when it comes to that but Renee was ready to bust out laughing as soon as Harley brought out the Mercedes puppet lol.
At times it feels like AEW puts on a good show but the ratings and viewership don't show for it. I really want this year to be the year they get back on track and start heading up again, but I said that last year too.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
Wait, so Grand Slam Australia is no longer a stadium event, AND it's just a Collision show? I have only been halfway paying attention to AEW for a while now, but what a let down that has to be. They're going all the way to Australia to do their B show in a 11k seat arena? OK.Comment

But if you can't sell tickets with the talent/local talent you have, don't know what else they could do. Any idea what ticket prices were like? They really should be charging minor league prices in comparison to the "major league" show (aka WWE).
I've seen similar pricing here between AEW and WWE so I figure it's similar in some places.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
I wonder if AEW got tipped about the Paris show WWE was doing at the end of August and that's why All In was moved to July. This gives me hope that the crowd for All In Texas will be really good. I know WWE is planning a Saturday Night's Main Event for the same night but no way am I missing Omega/Okada for that.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
Hopefully Harley wins the title, even just for a little bit.
This isn't the best comparison but it reminds me of that one year Santino got really hot before Elimination Chamber. Did he have any reason to get so much fan support right then? Nah. But it would've been fun to see him win, right? It feels like that to me.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
A sign in the crowd tonight.... "At least AEW doesn't have an untalented hack saying YEET."
LOL... wrestling fans will never stop with the tribalism but also hilarious because there is nobody in AEW who gets the kind of reaction Jey gets.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
One of these days someone will open that briefcase and the end result is just
A superstars doesn't connect with the crowd:
He has no character, no good entrance, no catchphrase
A superstar connects with the crowd:
Take away his character, entrance, catchphrase, then what is he?Last edited by Majingir; 02-13-2025, 09:14 PM.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
At least AEW got SOME mention during all star.
3 hour broadcast and I think I only saw an AEW ad once, in the final minute of the show, AFTER most viewers already tuned out since this was coming out of a commercial break after the dunk contest was already over.
Maybe next time promote the show that's following the all star coverage during the actual all star coverage?Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision Thread
This time I'll preface this by saying I'm posting while watching this on delay.
The moment Fletcher came out I thought it was Don Callis in wrestling gear. Bald head with those glasses, it looked like Callis Jr or something.
Mox channeling his inner Shield as he hits a curb stomp then was about to set up a spear through a table.Last edited by Majingir; 02-16-2025, 03:10 PM.Comment
