Agreed. At this point I just hope TNT stays happy cause I'm enjoying the hell out of AEW. Also hoping NWA stays on YouTube, seems to be the ideal platform for their show right now.

I'm sure TNT will be fine with around 1 million viewers, which I think is where AEW has already settled at. That seems to be AEW's loyal base of TV viewers at this point.

        Week 4:

        - AEW: 963,000
        - NXT: 698,000

Total viewers down from stiff competition last night (NBA and World Series) but the positive is both AEW and NXT actually gained .1 in the key demo.

Both held up great, honestly. Basically in 2019 if you love pro wrestling enough to care about AEW and/or NXT you are going to watch it over almost anything.

            Serious question here.

Why do TV ratings mean so much to people when we know the system isn't the greatest or most accurate way to determine viewers?

Nielsen viewers make up a very small sample size of the actual viewers, and we all know people consume TV shows in much diff ways often not even calculated by Nielsen ratings.

It's what sponsors and networks use to judge a show's value, rightly or wrongly. But viewership overall has dropped to the point that numbers don't mean what they did even 5-10 years ago.

TNA in its last years on Spike would get a 0.5 in 18-49 and that would land them 15-20th for the night. AEW's doing 0.45 and sitting at 4th.

Nielsen supposedly takes into account streaming. Sling has an option to opt in/out of it on their app.

Ratings can still be pretty useful in a scenario like this where you have two shows going head to head. In a vacuum they’re pretty useless though

From what I read, and I think it was on No DQ, I think. It said that the NXT ratings are right in line with what they and USA expected.

And AEW is just playing with house money at this point.

Good Luck to AEW and NXT tonight.... competing against Game 7 of the World Series.

True. Although It's likely going to do the lowest Game 7 rating ever.

                        Both bombed really hard.

759K for AEW and 580K for NXT

Yeah. Casuals came out of the woodwork to watch that Game 7.

                            NXT is hulking up, brother!

                            822K for AEW

                              Total combined viewership for AEW+NXT

                              Week 1: 2.3M
                              Week 7: 1.6M

Pretty sure there is zero risk of a wrestling boom any time soon lol.
